Heyward > Posey.

Other than that, no arguments, although I don't really care about Manager of the Year.

I felt like the Rangers were going to win the East before the season started. I thought the Rangers were going to win 87-89 games, so they outperformed expectations by a little (this was also before they got Cliff Lee). I thought the Twins would also win their division along the same win line. They won 95 games. I also thought the Twins encountered more injury problems than the Rangers with missing Nathan the entire season and Morneau for half the year. Rangers had a few injury problems including Hamilton for a month, but the division was basically locked up by then.

With all that being said, I only had Gardenhire slightly over Washington.

You must have had a lot of confidence in them to predict that they'd win a division they aren't even in. :p

I refuse to give Ron Washington credit for his team's success. He's a beneficiary of a great team; a puppy could have managed that team to the world series.

So Gardenhire should be discounted then too, right? Twins played in arguably the weakest division, and got smoked by a superior team in the playoffs... a team that Texas beat.

Washington, then Gardenhoser.

Their best player was out. If Hamilton wasn't playing, the Rangers wouldn't make the WS.

Playoffs shouldn't factor into voting. So the fact that the Twins got bounced in the playoffs shouldn't hurt Garndenhire. Honestly, I preferred him over Washington, because I felt Washington had the better overall team and should have done well regardless. (For example, I had Hamilton for MVP & Feliz for ROY)

Jackson played Gold glove caliber defense as well as hitting .290 AS A ROOKIE and stealing 25 bases. Ill take that over a guy closeing 40 games for me.

That was me, and was probably a product of setting my cut-off PA's a little too high, so when I tried to weed out players that didn't play a full season, I probably ended up throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

For what it's worth, I did actually vote Ike for second place. Even if I had included Posey, he would've still ended up as my third place vote.

Also, I'm glad I saved my sent PM with my votes in it so I could make sure I wasn't the one that tried to give Hamilton a Cy Young. :laugh2:

Gardenhire basically got it because one person didn't put Washington on the list.

I put Washington, Gaston, Gardenhire. I gave Gaston a vote because the Blue Jays were over .500 after losing their big start and they completely outperformed any expectations.

I didn't vote for Washington. I went Madden, Gaston, Gardenhire.

How can Bud Black win NL manager of the year...his team choked, flopped, fell on their face...and before you say that they weren't supposed to do anything when the season started...neither were the Reds or the Braves...I'd be ok with either Cox or Baker...but Black couldn't keep his team afloat long enough to make the playoffs...other than that...pretty good...i would put price for AL Cy...but don't really care about the AL so good calls for the most part...Vottomatic for M Votto P on Monday!!!!!

The Padres were supposed to win like 60 games, whereas the Reds and Braves were at least expected to compete. Frankly, the only reason I didn't pick the Reds to win a weak Central back in March was because I expected Baker to **** it up for them.

I continue to wholeheartedly endorse Votto for MVP, though. That guy is awesome, you should trade him to the Phillies. We'll give you Howard. :D

That's a lie. A lot of people had them as the surprise team to win the division.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/preview10/news/story?page=10expertpicks

Right there were 4 people that picked them to be in the playoffs. That's not many in comparison to how many people predicted there, but how many Padres did you see?

Searching around different sites, people were talking up the Reds as a surprise team.

No one predicted the Padres with their finish. Padres fans didn't even predict it.

What you don't understand is that Dusty not winning Manager of the Year is good for your franchise.

You don't want him around too long. Hell, give it another year and your entire rotation will have their careers ended.
