View Full Version : Which team has the worst best player?

DreamShaker

Every team has a best player. Some are obvious (Chris Paul, Melo, Dirk) and some are up for debate. But which player, who is the best player on his team, is the worst among those of that distinction? Who is the worst, best player?

sargon21
11-02-2010, 12:25 AM
off the top of my head... Iguodala?

Your title should be who is the worst best player.

You are correct here! I had a dyslexic moment there! If a mod could change this, I would be in appreciation.

Who would be considered the Cavs best player? I'm inclined to say whoever that is. But that's just off the top of my head right now.

Who would you consider the best players on those teams?

Cavs is Jamison and Mo Will. Jamison is washed up IMO and Mo Will is a lost cause.

As for the Wizards, John Wall is the best player if you don't include Arenas' talent. And I still wont trust John Wall. He's going to be sick but he hasn't shown me enough.

sargon21

Bargnani :laugh2:
Hickson?
Iguodala

Stuckey-Hamilton??

edit: I'd say its between the pistons and cavs.

Jamison is a good option here. He is on the decline, which is not the case for alot of the other options. Love, Bargs, and Wall are all still young and have likely not hit their peak...but to say Jamison is the best player on an NBA team...it's sad. Lebron truly left them to rot.

I wouldnt post it if i didnt know exactly what his contract is.

Bargnani - $8mil
Johnson - $5mill (both for the '10 season)

Bargnani - mpg 33.7, ppg 23, rpg 3, apg 1, bpg 1.7
Johnson - mpg 14.3, ppg 4.7, rpg 2.3 , apg .7,

Johnsons stats are low because he cant stay in the game with his foul trouble. So he plays half the minutes of Torontos "star" in Bargnani, yet gets well over half of what he makes. Per min salary Johnsons would be higher which i would think would be assumed hes the better player....which hes not. So like i was saying....based on salary...its johnson for the raps...or even calderon

For the dude who said Steph Curry is better than anyone on the Nets is smoking some serious 'dro.

Steph Curry is an overrated guard in a Nelson led offense. In any case, I'd put Monta Ellis above Steph Curry anyway.

With that being said, if I'm tasked with taking Curry or Brook Lopez I take Lopez every time.

Lopez is a top 5 center. Curry isn't even a top 10 point guard.

Top 5 Centers INPO reads like ....
Dwight Howard
Al Jefferson
Joakim Noah
Brook Lopez
Roy Hibbert

While top 10 Point Guards INPO is more like...

Chris Paul
Rajon Rondo
Deron Williams
Jason Kidd
Steve Nash
Derrick Rose
Brandon Jennings
Russell Westbrook
Devin Harris
Tony Parker

As for who has the worst best player? I'd have to go with Cleveland and Antawn Jamison. A 60 win team relegated to nothing. Don't think there will be very much dancing on those sidelines this year. Noah will be happy about that.

Im not saying he's getting paid more. Im saying if you break it down to productivity/salary in a game to game / min min salary....it would show amir to be basically the less productive player for what his salary is, he gets paid 5 mill this year...bargs is 8...which is more than half of bargs salary....yet hes avg less than half his stats.

On the topic, good/average best players:

Boston - Rondo
New Jersey - Lopez
New York - Amare
Philadelphia - Iggy
Indiana - Granger
Chicago - Rose/Boozer
Milwaukee - Bogut
Atlanta - Joe Johnson
Miami - Lebron/Wade
Orlando - Dwight
Charlotte - GWall
Portland - Roy
Denver - Melo
Oklahoma City - Durant
Utah - DWill
Minnesota - Love
LA Lakers - Kobe
Sacramento - Tyreke
Golden State - Monta/Curry/Lee
Phoenix - Nash
LA Clippers - Griffin/Davis
New Orleans - CP3
San Antonio - Duncan
Dallas - Dirk
Memphis - Zbo/Gay/Gasol
Houston - Yao/Kmart

Guys I'd question the most, in order from worst to better (for this season):

Detroit - Stuckey?
Toronto - Bargnani
Cleveland - Mo/Hickson/Jamison?
Washington - JWall/Arenas
