View Full Version : Michael Beasley "We are the worst team in the NBA"

Technically, Detroit, Houston, Philly, Charlotte and the Clippers are all tied for the worst record in the L. But why let facts get in the way of a good quote from Mike Beasley? From the Pioneer Press: “The word ‘Professional’ was written in large letters on a chalkboard inside the Timberwolves’ locker room Saturday night. Somebody must have written it after the Wolves’ demoralizing 109-89 loss to Memphis at FedExForum. Before the game, the board was filled with a checklist of items to remind Wolves players of their responsibilities. Whatever game plan Wolves coach Kurt Rambis had intended was never executed, prompting claims from Rambis of a lack of professionalism in his players and an alarming assessment from a frustrated Michael Beasley. ‘I feel like everything we’ve been working on since training camp went out the window tonight,’ Beasley said. ‘As of right now, we’re the worst team in the NBA.’” http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2010/11/michael-beasley-were-the-worst-team-in-the-nba/

I don't agree with him. They have a lot of young talent that they can trade to get better. The Twolves are my 4th fav team behind The Bulls, The Nuggets, and The Hawks

I feel bad for him honestly. he has to be looking south and just feeling bad. Had the HEAT kept him he would be competing for rings on a good team. I think it is important for him to grow, and this is a necessary step, but I just feel for the guy.

I have to agree. They will have the worst record this year and win the lottery, but won't draft Harrison Barnes because Kahn already drafted 2 SFs this year.

I take his comment as a positive. He could've said "We are the worst team in the country." Or "We are the worst team in the world, ever." But no, he kept it in his own profession. We can build on this.

I also dont think he was talking about talent. i think he was just stating a fact about where they are in the standings. kind of like after the heat/celtics opening night when people were joking around that the heat were the worst in the east for a day.

The Wizards drafted Wall even though they had Arenas and Hinrich

You dont pass up on a guy like Barnes no matter what.

Not really a player you want out on the court with that sort of negativity. Just play your game Beasley, especially since he has a lot to prove.

love is only conditioned for about 25 minutes a game...if he played anymore, he would collapse from heart failure. Love puts up monster numbers while only getting about 25 minutes per game, and its scary to think of what he would put up if he got 35 minutes, but the fact is, Love just isnt conditioned for it. Its not the coaches fault, its Loves

Clarification: Before he said basically that he had the mentality that the wolves were the best team but that the Lakers actually were.

This quote said, "right now" as in he could mean this particular night after an atrocious game.

What happened to the "Kahn's so dumb he'd draft a bunch of players who play the same position?" According to the "experts" in PSDville, that's exactly who Kahn would take.

**** that. he's now the worst player on the "worst team in the NBA". when Timberwolves young players start to develop and they start winning, i hope he gets traded to another rebuilding team. Beasley's a jerk and Wes Johnson will eat his minutes anyways. can you say China bound?

I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal of this. When I read Beasley's quotes including "That wasn't even basketball." I laughed because anyone who saw that game saw how pathetically the Wolves played. It's motivation, not just dumping on himself or the team.

its a big deal because its beasley, and people love to portray the wolves in a negative light.

Its kind of like the media's love affair with favre...anything there is to report on favre, even if it's just throwing to highschool kids, they are going to report...if there's anything the media can report that may reflect negatively on the wolves, the media will report it

He was frustrated. At least he didn't just hang his head and shuffle back to the locker room to prepare for the same underwhelming effort the next night.

I think the Wolves will perform better. I don't think they have enough to make the play-offs yet, but they'll get better.

This Wolves have some way underrated talent for being the youngest team in the NBA (avg. age 23).

Mike Beasley said that in frustration from that particular loss to Memphis. I wouldn't read much after 3 games into the season.

you can expect a lot of great quotes from Beasley for the rest of his career. The dude just isn't that bright. Don't put a mic in front of him....or a keyboard. But he has a lot of talent on the court.

Their coach is playing too many guys. He should shorten up the rotations and give his star players majority of the minutes, they are young, learning on the job let them ball.

First Michael said they were the team to beat now he said they are the worst team in the NBA. I feel sorry for the Timberwolves but that team is poorly managed and they shouldn't have traded for Beasley which was stupid. Beasley is only proven that he is a true bust of why the Heat traded him away from their team.

They dont need this guy around their young guys. Beasly is preceived by the average fan as the face of the Wolves right now with all the talking he has been doing. I would not want this guy representing my team.

He is calling guys out for wasting practices and calling his team the worst. Unacceptable.

Rambis needs to set an example by silencing this fool and putting Love on the floor.

Nor in the NBA, Wolves have talent, they are just going through growing pains.
