View Full Version : I know it just started but who's impressed you

10-28-2010, 08:27 AM
Yes, it's only been 1 or 2 games, but from all the talk this offseason, what has impressed you. Mine is Tim Duncan, yes I know theres lots of good guys out there, but from all the talk that he's declined, he's only a shell from what he used to be, etc. His first game is a way to start the season, 10-12 (23), 12 reb, 3 ast, 3 stl, 4 blocks. I'll take the shell of Timmy any day with stats like that, but yes, lets see how he does throughout the season. I still say he averages 18/10/2 and thats more than you could say for most of the younger, up in coming big men

Homer-Tyrus Thomas: 22 points 6 rebounds in 30 minutes

Non-homer: Luis Scola: Averaging 27ppg and 16 rpg. One of the most underrated players in the league.

10-28-2010, 08:42 AM
The Blazers as a team.

10-28-2010, 09:02 AM
hornets hornets hornets

10-28-2010, 09:44 AM
Russell Westbrook. Somehow I feel he is the leader of OKC, not Durant.

10-28-2010, 10:16 AM
Monta Ellis, David Lee, Andris Biedrins and Stephen Curry combo

Blake Griffin

Luis Scola

Tim Duncan but then he is a lock for HOF for a reason.

10-28-2010, 10:27 AM
homer: andrew bogut - 15 pts, 15 rebounds, 1 blk in 32 mins. That's huge since this was his 1st game coming back from his elbow & hand injury. hopefully he can keep this up for the rest of the season.

non-homer: blake griffin - 20 pts, 14 rebounds. my choice for rookie of the year.

10-28-2010, 10:31 AM
Roy Hibbert

10-28-2010, 10:36 AM
Blake Griffin, the Cavs

And for my Kings, DeMarcus Cousins of course. When he's on the floor, we are just much much better. He keeps opposing teams off the offensive glass, he sets up teammates, he hits his free throws, and down the stretch we ran the offense through him a good amount and he made good decisions.

10-28-2010, 10:52 AM
The Cavs and my man Westbrook.

10-28-2010, 10:56 AM

10-28-2010, 10:58 AM
Homer - Ben Gordon (shot over 80% from the field and looked like the old Ben Gordon)

nonhomer - Derrick Favors (will be the top dog of this draft in 5 years)

10-28-2010, 10:59 AM
Noah 18 points 19 reb

10-28-2010, 11:33 AM
griffen looked good to me

10-28-2010, 11:38 AM
Homer - Roy Hibbert and Darren Collison

Non Homer would have to be Blake Griffen or Monta

10-28-2010, 11:49 AM
Homer-Wilson Chandler: 22 pts, 8rebs, 2 ast 2 blks off the bench

Non Homer: Blake Griffen

10-28-2010, 12:04 PM
The original Big3 TP-Manu-Duncan look healthier than they have in years

10-28-2010, 12:08 PM
Shannon Brown is the homer pick

But Scola, Batum, Griffin and Ibaka come to mind as guys I've noticed playing well with my free first weeks sample of league pass :)

10-28-2010, 12:16 PM
Homer: Marco Bellinelli

Non-Homer: Blake Griffin=ROY

10-28-2010, 12:20 PM
homer: whole warriors starting 5 (good to see ellis score at a high %, biedrins not beeing afraid on o and getting boards, curry doing what he did last year after all star break, d.wright hitting outside shots and lee getting boards, score and hustel (!) )

non homer: hibbert,duncan and griffin
scola looked good too but he played against the warriors who play pretty ****** low post d right now

10-28-2010, 12:28 PM
Homer - no one

Non-homer - Luis Scola

10-28-2010, 12:34 PM
Blake Griffin is probably my pick because this guy is pure hardwork and hustle, he doesn't take any posessions off. What makes it more impressive is that he is jumping and diving all over the place and this is a guy who is coming out of a knee surgery. Kid's got some guts and I look forward to seeing him grow as a player

10-28-2010, 12:46 PM
Im suprised that Griffin didnt scored 25+ and had 15+ rebounds like i sad

10-28-2010, 01:06 PM
Bob Griffin would have scoed 25+ points if he was given the ball more in the second half. He has the energy and athleticism of Jermaine Wallace and the body of Carl Boozer (hopefully not as frail, but just as big and strong)

10-28-2010, 01:11 PM
As a Minneapolis Lake fan, I must admit I was cynical about the preseason hype Shelden Brown was getting from other fans of Lakes and basketball. But I think Shelden has developed a good jump shot this summer, I just hope he doesnt marry it. He can have hot sex with it at a hotel saying telling his real wife (mrs. slasher) that he's gotta stay late for work, but come back home and treat mrs. slasher right. She doesnt have to know, but you better give her the same effort you do to ms. jump shots' bosomy body.

10-28-2010, 01:16 PM
Scola, Griffin, Duncan, Hibbert, Westbrook, K. Mart. Most of the others weren't terribly surprising, unless I'm forgetting someone.

10-28-2010, 01:41 PM
Noah tearin it up on the boards.

Public Enemy #1
10-28-2010, 01:44 PM
Ellis, Curry, Lee....

10-28-2010, 01:46 PM
Deandre Jordan
Big Baby Davis
Russell Westbrook
Taj Gibson
JJ Hickson
Roy Hibbert

All young players that have improved and are trying to take another step up

10-28-2010, 01:55 PM
Marco Belinelli had 18 points, 6 boards, and 2 assists for the Hornets last night.

Why the Raptors traded him is beyond me.

10-28-2010, 01:57 PM
Dorell Wright
he's going to have a really nice year. he really improved his game.

10-28-2010, 02:05 PM

10-28-2010, 02:08 PM
Landry Fields

10-28-2010, 02:10 PM
Roy Hibbert for sure

Also gotta give it up for old man Jason Kidd.

Homer- Big Baby Davis. League better know about him these days.

10-28-2010, 02:15 PM
Evan turner... After the preseason I was worried and still am but his opening game was nice...

7-10 for 16 points 7 rebounds 4 assists 1 blocked shot.

10-28-2010, 02:16 PM
why are people including westbrook in this thread? it said player that has surprised you the most.

If you seen any thunder games last year or watched the series against the lakers, then you know he is a beast and that he is capable of going for 25 a night if durant wasnt his counterpart. It shouldnt be surprising to anyone.

28 10 7 and made drose shoot a horrible percentage

10-28-2010, 02:28 PM
Ridnour, Tolliver was really good for us last night too. Beasley really was quiet for the first couple quarters, no one really looked to pass him the ball it seams like. But in the 4th, he started to take over.

10-28-2010, 04:35 PM
The original Big3 TP-Manu-Duncan look healthier than they have in years

Yeah they look good at the moment, I just hope that they can stay healthy, also liked Jefferson was aggressive and looked way more comfortable then last year. But their D has to improve...

Louis Scola, I still can't believe the Spurs traded him.

Blake Griffin showed that he will be really good if he stays healthy.
