I feel bad for Sixer fans right now, when they got Brand a couple years ago, I really thought they were going to be consistently in the playoffs. But they look like they're in shambles, I know its the first game of the year for them, but just from looking back at last year and even in the preseason a bit, they gotta do something. It's tough with Brand's contract, and Iggy's too... talent isn't meshing either. Think they're on the right track with Young, Turner and Holliday, but but they're really young still so it'll take some time.

sixers werent coming back to win that game. spo was trying to find good combinations of players the entire 4th quarter but the heat kind of stepped off the breaks a little in the 4th quarter of a back to back. good win. we now see how lebron and wade will play together kind of, now time for bosh to just start hitting his shots and play more in control like he did when he dominated in the preseason. he'll be fine

ManRam
10-27-2010, 09:36 PM
Boston got up big time for last night's game, but they'll coast all year again like last year. Some people overreacted last night, but the #1 seed will come down to Orlando or Miami...not Boston. That doesn't mean they aren't the best team...it just means they can't play hard every night as the other teams, and that they don't need to.

A very impressive win, but let's not forget that Boston was on the road on a back to back after playing an extremely tough and physically/emotionally draining game and Cle was fully fresh. It makes a big difference.

Again though, really impressive regardless. Didn't expect them to get it.

Boston is probably going to struggle all season with back to backs and understandably so... they've got a lot of old bodies, so that's going to be tough for them. They know they're playing deep into the playoffs, so I dont' think anybody should worry about them.

Westbrook and KD are absolutely beasting - Thunder are so fun to watch. And so are the Bulls between Noah and Rose, but they seriously need Deng (or need to make a trade for someone) to step it up offensively. Simply can't hang with a team the caliber of the Thunder when it gets into crunch time and their offense is that limited.

And Sefalosha + Ibaka? Wow. Defensive juggernauts.

Bulls fan? If so, definitely isn't helping. That team desperately needs more talented/aggressive offensive players. This isn't a reffing mistake. Thunder (mainly KD + Westbrook, but others like Green/Ibaka/Harden aren't shy) are aggressive as all hell. It makes a huge difference.

Thunder win convincingly in the fourth. Solid game, love watching these two play.

30+ shots for Rose just won't cut it though; especially if it's not done efficiently whatsoever. Kid needs more help offensively.

You can tell that Chicago will be good with Boozer there. Pick and roll with Rose is going to be scary, especially if they got Noah waiting for a rebound, and Korver out in the corner for 3. Gonna be tough to guard that, IMO.

**** that was a great game. I'll say this...

Rose's ability to get in the paint and finish at the rim is absolutely incredible. He can hang in the air for days, and it allows him to alter his shot and put the ball in the hoop.

But... Westbrook is ****ing amazing.

I was actually kinda excited to see Durant struggle. Last season, when Durant was off, we were done for. Durant struggled mightily for a good portion of the game, but Westbrook was able to take it into his own hands. Great game, I'm ready for the next one.

Without watching any Warrior games, people assume he's just an below-average player playing on a lotto team, playing in a system which inflates stats, and jacking up 30 shots a game.

Half-time:

21 minutes, 27 points, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover with 10-13 shooting.

Not really concerned at all about the Bulls' loss to the Thunder tonight. Noah and Taj looked incredible out there, and Rose was dominating Westbrook in the 1st quarter before he got into foul trouble. Rose won't take that many shots again all season, and I think we easily win this game if Boozer plays.

Evan Turner....16pts 7reb 4ast in 31 minutes. Really looked like the best player on the floor for the Sixers tonight, and this game had to boost his confidence. Took on D-Wade and Lebron defensively and did a decent job. Very proud of the kid, and his detractors will definitely be changing their tune. "He's a gamer"- Doug Collins

Free throw discrepancy in the Warriors/Rockets game? 50-15 [Rockets up]. But the Dubs are still up 5 at this point (5 to go in 4th). Suck it, zebras (Kevin Martin really does know how to get to the line, though. And he's 17-17 from there, ouch).

Monta has 39 on 16/20 shooting so far - bam. Highest scoring backcourt in the league last year is continuing to do work. Only now, we aren't starting D-leaguers in our frontcourt. Should be a much improved season for GS.

No doubt, along with some sloppy D from us. And Kevin Martin draws contact as well as anyone in the league. It will be better when Udoh comes to the team in a couple months to shore up the defensive presence (or lack there of) in the low-block.

Monta's just fun as hell to watch right now, though. Dude is ****ing incredible when he's on.

I was glancing at the box score, and saw that Warriors were 16-16 from the line. Then I looked over at HOU, and saw 42-50 from the line. Holy ****.

I'm more referring to a combo of curry and martin, not comparing beno to curry. You really think Curry and Martin isn't softer than Beno and Tyreke? I'll quote Kobe Bryant. "Tyreke is a grown *** man."

And in all honesty, Beno Udrih is huge for the Kings. He makes our offense go. I'm just saying I'd rather have Tyreke than Curry. And I'd rather have Carl Landry than Kevin Martin, who plays about 45 games a year. I'd rather have Landry who makes less than 1/3 that Martin does and plays an entire season.

I'd just rather have Beno, Tyreke, and Mandry than Stephen Curry and Kevin Martin, that's all.

It comes down to this:

Beno-Tyreke-Casspi-Landry-Cousins

vs.

Curry-Martin-Casspi-Thompson-Cousins

From a purely statistical standpoint (aka Fantasy Basketball)...the second lineup looks better.

But the 1st lineup has more grit and toughness.

Its tough to say what team would be better...it depends on the style you are going for.

Both teams can score points...and perhaps the second lineup has a more explosive offense...but the 1st lineup has a more balanced offense...and a better chance to play good, tough, physical defense.

I do like the 1st lineup better though...if it were up to me. The 2nd lineup is way too soft after looking at again. They would be fun to watch though.

I guess it really comes down to Tyreke vs. Curry.

I like Tyreke's overall game better.

Haha, it's not overreacting. I'd rather have Tyreke who can guard 3 positions and put up 20 6 and 5. All he has to do is improve that jumper and he's unguardable. Landry averaged 18 and 7 on 52% FG for the Kings last year and was awesome tonight, getting 22 and 11. Then you have Beno, who quietly had a very good season last year and works very well with Tyreke.

The biggest difference for me is Thompson and Landry. Thompson just isn't that good. He has trouble finishing around the basket, thinks he's a better jumpshooter than he is, struggles defending the post, and commits some of the dumbest fouls I've ever seen. He plays hard...but just isn't smart.

And like I said, Martin just can't stay healthy. He's a great scorer...for 45 games a year.
