We all know they're in for a long season. but what would it take for them to get on the right track.

Best player - Bargnani

Young talent- derozan,davis,,weems,amir

Role players - barbosa, kleiza, calderon, jack, evans ,

2 1st rounders.

Looks Bad but they do have chemistry

Whats your Opinion on what they should do. is trading bargnani an option ?

what your honest feed back. and how long do you think they are from another playoff appearance.

2. Throw 3 alley oops to Derozan a game to keep the crowd semi interested
3. Draft well, can't emphasize that enough.
4. For fans, alcohol, lots of it.

Trade Calderon + expirings for a defensive big man.. don't need anything more.. i'd be happy with Dalembert.. if it works we can resign him, if it doesn't work, who cares, it's a one year rental..

Jack - Barbosa
DeRozan - Weems
Kleiza - Wright
Bargnani - Davis
Dalembert - Andersen

Not a championship team but i'd be fine with that..

dont you guys have tpe to?

1.trade anyone/everyone over 30 or any long term contracts for picks and/or any young guys you can get
2.use tpe to get whatever overpaid yet young talent is on the block thats lockedup for a few years(assuring that you dont have to worry about him bolting so quickly)
3.trade bargs,he's a good talent but your going nowhere with him as your centerpiece for the future.or move him to the 4(though davis is a better prospect to have for there)
4.drink,smoke,root on and cheer each loss.higher lotto pick chances are the order of the day,not wins.

I think Bargs has to be your second best player, if you keep him. Having a poor season wouldn't be the worst thing in the world because I really think you are missing your franchise guy or at the very least a sturdy post presence. I would have liked to have seen Toronto make a push for the 4-5 pick to get Cousins (Bargs and Cousins :superman:)

Hopefully DeRozan turns out for you guys. Klieza was a nice pickup and I like Bellinelli, but overall I think you all need to blow it up. Re-tooling time is over, Bosh is gone (who was never going to win you a championship), time to re-build. The sooner that happens, the sooner the Raps are back in the playoffs.

And that was mostly as a favour to Belinelli because he wasn't going to see any playing time with DeRozan, Weems, and Barbosa ahead of him. They got Wright so that Banks would have someone to play cards with on the bench.

Honestly, tank the year. Get a top 3 pick and try to get your franchise player. Someone you could build around. You can't build a good team around Derozan or Bargs

HoopsMachine
10-24-2010, 07:07 PM
I think the plan for any rebuilding team should be:

1) Amassing young talent through draft

2) Purging long-term contracts from the roster

3) Using FA to sign players that compliment the developing young talent

4) Hire a coach that can work with younger players and is good with XO's

I guess...but seeing the Pistons will most likely get sold to the same guy that owns the Tigers, RedWings, and plans on building a new arena Downtown I think the Pistons are safe.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Raps moved, Toronto isn't a preferred destination NBA wise(I mean everyone bolts from there whenever they have a chance).

It has so little to do with player choice and so much to do with profitability and ownership. From what I here (lol) Toronto sells out its games and even if they didn't some owners are willing to take losses for the love of the franchise/game.

detroit isnt ezactly a hot spot for free agents. but the the fact u said pistons wont go beacause team is being sold to the same owner of redwings would work for the raps also.

The team isnt owned by one person but multimillion company called MLSE.(maple leafs sports and entertainment) and they have never been in talks for selling. theres virtually no chance they move. unless the nba wants to lose some serious cash.

But they also got what? The 6th pick? No Durrant so they had to get creative/lucky.

Finding a legit center is easier said than done. I would look to pick up whichever PG the Wolves make available next year* - Ridnour or Flynn. I don't know about Davis, but whatever it takes to get a crack at a center with 2-way potential I would do.
