Shows how so many good teams progressed payroll wise(which is normal with new TV contracts, new ballparks, more advertising,....etc) while some are still in the same payroll if not even worst.

Of course I'm taking the Yankees out of the equation since they doubled their payroll...I was more talking about teams like the Royals, Marlins, Pirates, Padres,...etc.

And IMO those teams failed to progress in a business/financial sense.

The Marlins' payroll hasn't changed much. :laugh2:

The next year after that A-Rod (TEX), Manny (BOS), and Jeter (NYY) all signed huge deals. That's what started the explosion we have now. Those 3 deals really set the market high on position players.
