A source with knowledge of Greg Odenís thinking told ESPN.com that 2007ís No. 1 overall pick is resigned to the idea that an extension from the Blazers is not forthcoming. Iím told Oden isnít even pressing for it, after appearing in just 82 games over his first three seasons, because he knows heís better off trying to put together one strong season and proceed to restricted free agency -- provided restricted free agency still exists in the next CBA -- than negotiate now against his lengthy injury history.

probably... I was just commenting to someone who suggested 3 years/11 mil... Joel anthony and darko millicic got more then that. That number will have to be at least doubled...and possibly even tripled...

he should be restricted though... so blazers could still match anything

He's welcome on the Warriors... then we will have two players on our team who stupidly shared pics of their wangs with their girls who in turn leaked them out

anyone who thinks Greg Oden will not be a blazer next year is not paying attention. Cho has made it quite clear that unless a team severely overpays the Blazers will bring him back. Why would they offer an extension when he is currently injured. If he comes back healthy he will get an extension by the end of the season.

He might never be a superstar but he gives you everything you want out of the center position. If he can stay healthy any team in need of a center would love to have him.

im confident the blazers will give him an extension if he gets healthy and has a productive season. i think that at least one team may offer oden a ridiculous contract to oden in order to force the blazers hand. if he stays healthy this year, the blazers will match any offer and retain him.

I personally think we should have extended him before the season because after he stays healthy this season and puts up numbers he will ask for a lot more, and deservedly so. Either way, I see Oden being a Blazer for a long time.

Is this a joke? Hes going to fetch far more than 4M annually, lol way to be risky

Why are you acting like you dont know what Oden can do, its already translated to the NBA game.

Sorry but Oden already showed that he can be a total game changer when healthy. He is absolutely dominant defensibly. The only question is if he can stay healthy, if he has a healthy season this year he is due for a huge payday.

You think a team will want to give him more money on a 3 yr guaratee'd deal? I think he may get a 1 er 2 yr deal

O.K what are the odds he stays healthy all year when he comes back? I say he will have some sort of problem even if its minor and teams will be warry of giving him any kind of big money IMO. But one or two teams may throw 6 million a year at him...The Raps need a center so bad

**** if I know, all I know is that those problems wont limit him to a 4M deal. Barring any significant change to the CBA there will be a team willing to offer him double digits. Raps wont get him for 6M, Im not saying its logical but since when are GM's logical?

He can always split time with Bynum or Yao and even take turns planning yearly vacations for the right price.

In the Blazer forum we often wish that Paul Allen would just buy your guys' training staff, after all he buys picks in the first round anyways :laugh2: Seriously though, you guys are lucky to have those guys.
