Miami.

If Miami can force turnovers and get in the open court, then they'll walk away with the win. This team will thrive off their transition defense, and I don't see Boston keeping up with them. Miami will be pushing the ball relentlessly and if they can't finish with a quick layup or dunk, then the Heat will go into their offense. Which is based off the playmaking abilities of James and Wade to read the defense and create on the fly. This would be the first official game that the big 3 will be on the floor together. All eyes will be on them, which means there are going to be a lot of open looks for guys like Eddie House, Zydrunas Ilgauskas , and James Jones.

Celtics in a blowout... They will have much better team chemistry and it will show on opening nite. Not that the Heat wont get better with time. with the big 3 not being able to play together due to injuries and a lack of a bench will hurt the Heat.

The Heat aren't even that good.

They have 3 top 20 players. 2 in the top 5.

I mean if Wade brought his team to 5th seed(I believe) with that roster last year, they will be a lot better this year. So they will be pretty good. Top 2 finish in the East guaranteed and top 5 in the league.

I actually got the Cetlics though. In terms of matchups, Bosh always has had trouble with Garnett and no one on the Heat can match up to Shaq at C. Haslem can probably match up to O'neal but Bosh will have trouble with Garnett and Shaq. Rondo will beat Chalmers and I can also see Rondo giving Wade a hard time. With Rondo in the perimeter and Garnett/Shaq/Jermaine in the post, it's going to be hard for all 3 Heat stars to rive. Bosh will get abused for sure, Wade is injured so it will affect him and it seems as if everyone wants to be the guy to take LBJ out.

Heat. Wade and LeBron will both be super motivated to beat a Celtic team that eliminated them from the playoffs last season. In addition to that, they will try to silence a 38 year old former teammate who is now just a 3rd string fatass but is still talking **** thinking he's still in his prime. Should be a fun game.

I expect the Heat to come out and will themselves to a W with or without Miller. There's to much riding on this for the Thrice PR wise and this is a golden oppotunity for Miami to come out beat last years best in the East c's and throw their hat into the ring. If the Miami boys are going to garnesh any respect they're going to need to come out ready to prove themselves and do what they came together to do.

For the people that claim the heat are too good, please remember that these are the celtics we're talking about. Their defense is ALWAYS consistent. They've played together for years and they know how to win together. It's not stupid to choose them to win this game.

NBA basketball is not as simple as what some of you claim. Sure, the Heat have the "top 2" players, but that doesn't mean they'll win. We have the olympics as a reference for that.

um... House 7 ppg career avg. Jones 6 ppg career avg... i'd barely call those guys good role players. plus they do the same thing. they can only shoot the 3. they shouldnt even be on the same team. it hurts MIA by having both.

Rationally and logically speaking if i was a betting man id say Boston because their roster is healthy and intact their chemistry has been set for a while and just a few pieces had to get aclimated to their system plus their regular advantage over the HEAT in terms of post presence/height.

But i wouldnt bet a lot either because Lebron,Wade, and bosh will want to send a message in the first game to everyone. And everyone knows how each of those guys can take over a game. So i wouldnt put it past them especially wade and james to put the team on their backs and win the first game out of pure motivaion from all the crap this offseason. Meanwhile the celtics probably dont care as much they are the veteran team looking to win but 1 loss wont shake them much at all as they sometimes coast through parts of the regular season.

The only threats down low are Bosh and Haslem. They've got to watch out for Miami's perimeter play instead. It'll be tough though, containing both LeBron and Wade ain't no easy task.

Also, let's not forget about the Rondo-Chalmers matchup and the bench play from both teams.

It would be very easy to vote for Boston in this one, but I am going with the Heat on this one and im not just being a homer, I will tell you why. We can agree that Wade had absolutley no help last year (exept for UD). Wade still got the Heat the 5 seed the last 2 years. Wade torched the Celtics defense in the playoffs last year with no help whatsoever. He was the only player that did any good for them and the Celtics were triple teaming him as soon as he dribbled passed mid court. Now add Lebron and Bosh with Wade. I know the its gonna be difficult for Bosh but what I would do if I were the Heat is I would make Bosh a jumpshooter against Boston because when Wade blows by Allen or Lebron blows by Peirce and into the lane they can dish it to Bosh for a wide open jumper. Im not trying to be a homer, I really really really like Boston (and I also think they would have 3 peated if they had been fully healthy the last 3 years) but if Wade did this to the Celtics in the playoffs

This games is going to be a good one. The thing is its going to come down to the bench and there is a easy concensus on who has the better bench. Look at it this way. Wade James are going to have somewhere in between 20-30 pts and bosh will have 10-22 pts that only accounts for about 75 pts. Im pretty sure the celtics will do a good job exploiting the fact the heat have no solid center and they have no solid pg. I think they might have been better if miller wasnt hurt. Im calling Rondo and whoever is playing center will have a fairly good game but hey we will see.

I honestly have no clue. I voted Miami just because I feel that any team that Lebron is on is going to have the #1 seed. So while Miami will have the better season record then Boston, I think Boston is the ONE TEAM ONLY that can beat the Heat in a 7 game series. This game will be a preview of the playoffs. Everyone knows Boston turns it on once the playoffs start, so as far as this one game, either team could take it, but I'll give the edge to boston. But if the heat and Celtics played in the playoffs, I'd probably pick the Celtics in 6.

BTW I'm a Bucks fan, but I love Lebron, hence the sig.
