If you, the average man, took steroids and it gave you the ability to instantly turn from the average Joe to professional level athlete...would you?

If I was poor yes.

First of, assuming I am the average man is insulting. And second, no...the world isn't ready for me yet.

Moostaphar

I didn't mean to insult your manhood.

I have played basketball my whole life. I was never able to dunk (i am 6'1 white)

I took juice in my mid 20's and was jumping out of the building, and throwing it down. I attribute it to working my legs hard and juice. At the end of the day it is crazy what an edge certain types of steroids can give you.

If yes... Then do you criticize any professional athlete or aspiring athlete who does?

NYG/NYC-RK
10-16-2010, 12:29 AM
You guys are being naive if you dont think 50% of all professional athletes use growth hormone. ****, you know how many celebrities use that stuff?

*** And when did baseball come back to life?????

When SOSA & McGuire were going needle for needle

Moostaphar

For the average man it's a stretch. But for someone who is perhaps on the fringe of pro ability?

You'd probably get caught and become a disgrace and counting my nickname could be Arod I would get more than my fair share of aroid chants.

Absolutely. I was 180lbs and had an alright body and i started taking roids 5months ago and im up to 210lbs of solid muscle. obviosuly its cheating and it woulda NEVER happened without the roids but still its well worth it and i dont regret it at all.

No. I have too much respect for the integrity of the game. I would never take part in hurting the game. I have no respect of any kind for these baseball players like A-Roid who tarnish the game. There was a time when being honest and fair was the right thing to do. Now we have all these lazy people who want to cash in for something they really aren't.

If steroids contribute to making decisions like getting a tattoo of a sports logo I'll pass.

Cute. But what about the talented player stuck in AAA while his roided up peers passed him by on their way to the bigs? The veteran watching a younger players slowly taking AB's away from him?

Respect for the game falls pretty low on the priority list when others are cashing cheques that should have had your name on them. That idealistic bull is easy to type on the internet.

C-ross12

I wouldn't. I dont care so much about the intregity of the game or the chance of getting caught.. Its too hard on your body.

Like I said, I wouldn't want to be like those peers. I could never be a fake like that.

Nah not me, it just isn't natural. Sure it gives you many benefits, but for me it just isn't worth it. I don't like the idea of my body turning into **** later on in the long term.

Moostaphar
10-16-2010, 09:17 PM
It's interesting how a majority of people seem to be in favor of this idea while I would guess that if I were to post the question like, "Does Barry Bonds deserve to be considered the home run record holder?" I'm not so sure that a majority would say yes.

homestarunner93
10-16-2010, 09:39 PM

So you wouldn't do it to get a chance to say you're one of the few people who can play professional baseball? I'd have no problems dying at 65 or 70 if it meant I got to live a dream for a few years playing pro ball.

Sorry, but spending time with my family is MUCH more important to me than possibly playing pro ball...

I was gonna say something like this but you said it for me. I've always been an athlete trapped in a non-athletic body. Taking it would only make me a normal athlete, which I wish I was... But it's still not worth it.

Yeah, my family won't appreciate the millions of dollars I leave behind for them either. Or the fact that they can say they had a relative that played pro ball. Nah, stuff like that doesn't matter to people...it's all about those 5 years of extra life.

pacofunk64

If I had access to them ya I probably would have. I was pretty athletic in high school. I was a 4 sport guy. 6'1" and could dunk. I couldn't do reverse **** but my vertical was around 30 inches. When Roids are taken in small amounts for a short period of time they are fairly safe. Someone used Lyle Alzado as an example but he is the example of someone who severly abused Steroids.

jbrad23
10-18-2010, 12:04 PM
If the "average Joe" took steroids he would just get fat. It is not a miracle drug. You still have to work hard. However, if you do work hard... the results would be greatly increased.

IMO the average Joe doesn't go to the gym often

Lyle Alzado took natural growth hormone instead of synthetic growth hormones... He most likely got them from human corpses.

P.S. I like how your sig has a player that's not even on the Marlins anymore.
