No

I think that's his older brother. That guy's voice isn't high pitched enough to be Cole.

Because they have always done that to Hamels

oh wait...

oh, that's insightful. The red's have never hit hamels before so there is no chance they could ever do it tonight. Hell, they may as well not even play the game... right?

koldjerky
10-10-2010, 05:44 PM
Umm.. Well considering, by history, Hamels has kept the Reds pretty much in check it's a safer bet to say they won't be hitting home runs "left and right." Just because you want it to happen doesn't mean it will just happen.

haha, this is true! Was not trying to be a dick... but i hate when people just base everything off previous outings or history. The fact is, anything can happen on any given day so past starts are really meaningless. I mean, by the same logic i could argue the reds wont get a single hit vs halladay if they play a game 5 because the reds have never gotten a hit vs halladay in the playoffs. :D

But in all honesty... i think the reds have a great game tonight and the phillies bounce back and end this thing tomorrow night.

i never said i wanted that to happen... i just have a feeling that the reds are going to explode on offense tonight. That being said, there is also the possibility that hamels pitches a gem. I just personally just think the reds have a huge game tonight. god forbid i have a opinion

But as sports fans, stats and past events is all we really have to go with.

I guess this ump will be inconsistent tonight.

MooseWithFleas
10-10-2010, 08:29 PM
Ump needs to either call the low strike or not. I was having a fit in that first inning with the inconsistency. They were strikes to Howard then, 2 of them were not strikes to Votto, then it was a strike again to Rolen.

Phils have 3 hits and 4 other hard hit balls so far. I'd be stunned if we don't get 3-4 off Cueto tonight.

natepro
10-10-2010, 08:43 PM
That's the first time in three different games tonight I've seen the 2B let the LFer have a ball that was hit between them like that. It's about damn time that isn't turned into a needless error.

Phillies are the best team in the NL but the Reds and Braves are a complete joke.

The Giants offense is terrible, they have no shot against the Phills, unless Philly decides not to play on offense.

GoatMilk
10-10-2010, 11:19 PM
here's the thing, SF has great enough pitching to hold Philly down.
look at tonight, only 2 runs

and a guy like pat burrell and juan you-ree-bay are good enough to run into a pitch they like and give the giants the lead

phils should and will win, but the giants worry me

Exactly. Plus the Phillies pitching gave up 4 runs in 27 innings to the best offense in the NL. I'd say they can hold down a little bit better.

Remember you just got your pitcher back from surgery and Rolen seemed somewhat hurt this series... You guys are nowhere near done... Next year I fully expect you guys to be back in the playoffs. Your team is very very similar to our team when we got swept by the red hot rockies in the playoffs a few years back... Look how we turned out. The same could easily happen to you guys.

it really should be an automatic worl series apperance for the phillies. if the braves were healthy they would take them out but losing two starters jsut about dooms their chances, even in the giants series. of course losing a closer also hurts them.

Great season for the Reds, they definitely exceeded all expectations. They remind me SO much of the 2007 Phils, and look how well that's turned out. With Chapman starting next year, they should be much better and I expect good things out of them.

They couldn't even beat our minor league pitchers and our B team when it mattered for them in the final series of the year and it almost cost them the playoffs. Healthy against our rotation I am not afraid of the braves. The Giants are the much tougher matchup all around for us
