:k:nic:k:s :cheer: here. Im a knick fan 1st and couldn't care less who plays for them as long as we win. Sure i would love to have the flashy dunk in your face guys. But my primary concern is getting the job done.

When speaking to some fellow knick fans it seems to me that many value management and certain players over winning, and will support them blindly more so than they support the team.

So my question is would you rather have a winning team, or a team with your favorite guys on it.

I think it has a lot to do with geographical location. Much more than players or management, or the franchise.

Home team = franchise. (Unless they go with a player/coach I really hate i.e. Daunte Culpepper/almost Brad Childress)

Additional teams = just players: Nash & Amare (Suns are fading w/ me), Ray Allen & Rajon Rondo

So i guess i'm saying everybody likes a winner but i appreciate how you get there so i want a team i enjoy watching over a boring machine (spurs) that wins.

Winning. It doesn't matter who's on my team at the end of the day you play to win the game.

Franchise hands down.

players come and go, management comes and goes, but the franchise lives on.

I'm a bit confused by the question.
I'm assuming you're asking if I root for my team and team only or just if a favorite player of mine that happens to be on a certain team.

Regardless, I'd root for the Suns. I love Nash and would root for whomever he goes to to be successful, but never over the Suns.

I hate everything about my franchise, excluding the players. They should be in Seattle.

Well my Lakers will always have a mixture of both, they are simply the best in the business when it comes to putting on a total package. But just in case the world comes to and end, it'll always be the Lake Show over any given player.

Loyalty to the franchise. When McGrady was with Houston, there seemed to be a lot of "Rockets" fans who were really only interested in the interests of Tracy McGrady. To be fair, though, I imagine that a lot of them are younger.

It's easier to be attached to franchise players when you're young because those guys are often the first players you know and you get attached to them. When I was a kid, I loved Hakeem Olajuwon, Jeff Bagwell, Steve McNair and Eddie George. No matter what the franchises did, I was always fascinated with them because they WERE the teams to me and their success was all that mattered. When Hakeem left, I was really hurt, and I didn't know what to do because he WAS the Rockets to me and that was the only basketball team I ever knew. Eventually George left, Bagwell retired and McNair left, as well.

Once you get used to new faces, and learn to become attached to your franchise, there is no reason why you should support a player above the team.

Players

Favorite Player LeBron favorite team used to be Cavs now Heat
Second Fav player KD, Second favorite Team OKC
Third Fav player Joe Johnson, 3rd favorite Team Hawks
Fourth Fav player Gilbert Arenas, 4th Favorite Team Wizards

i was begining to believe i was the only person that put the franchise above premadona management and players.

i read a post that said when your team wins you usually develop favorite players, well i also found a few guys i liked over Dlee eventually krytonate etc. the knicks sucked for a long time.

Franchise is always first. they can put :)s on the floor as long as they win im happy ;)
