If the Twins get a win, its going to be this one. Duensing actually pitched us pretty well last ALDS, and lefties are better in our park. But I think the Yankees sweep, they are in their heads big time

I know we spoke about that the other night when Andy got hurt he was having a CY Young type year...Hughes has 18 wins, how many legit starters do you need to win a WS?? they did it last year, and were fine:clap::clap::clap: Lineup is lethal, bullpen is well you know shut em down:speechless:

well, lets think about it this way.....

This years lineup is = To last years lineup
This years starting 3 rotation is better than last years starting 3
This years bullpen is better than last years bullpen

Twins made it to the playoffs, good team

Very good team. Just not as good as the Yankees. Everyone overlooked the Yankees staff because of recent struggles. Yet no one gave up on Lincecum when he struggled.

Still people will think the Phillies 1-2-3 is better, yet Halladay got rocked by the Yankees already this season. Oswalt got hit pretty hard yesterday. And the verdict is still out on Hamels. I dont think the Yankees staff is better, but its equal

Doesn't matter. The Yankees wont even make the World Series. The Yankees will get rocked by Texas in the ALCS. Texas is a much younger team, and it will show in the ALCS. Texas in 5 is my prediction.

But even if you want to discuss the rotation difference, the Phillies rotation is 10 times better. Halladay > Sabathia, Oswalt > a 38 year old Pettitte, Hamels > an inconsistant Hughes. And honestly I don't even think Hughes is that amazing... He is overrated right now. He would have 11-12 wins on any other team in the majors. 4.19 era is not an ace. Hell, most of the Twins rotation had a much better era than Hughes.. But you guys will probably say wins mean everything. Liriano would have had 20 wins if he played for the Yankees this year. There is a reason wins haven't accounted for the Cy Young award in the last couple years. Wins don't show how good a pitcher is. Wins are a team stat. Sorry to say it, but a 13 game winner will be winning the Cy Young award this year, not the 21 game winner from a Yankee team who basically provided him 4+ extra wins.

I love how we could have back to back great starts from Hughes, and Pettitte, yet you can still say they are garbage. For Pettitte, how many times does he have to come up big until people realize that hes a different pitcher in the playoffs.

And btw, you hurt your argument by saying the Rangers will win because they are younger. That means they are far less experienced. But, i guess the you right, everyone picked the twins to AT LEAST bring this series to 5, and they did, but somehow the Yankees were able to beat them in the pivitol game 5 tonight. Probably just luck

Oh, it's better all right, but 10 times better is a stretch. I wouldn't even say the Yankees are 10 times better than your Twinkies and they beat them like they're the Orioles. Actually, the Orioles would probably play the Yankees tougher. The Blue Jays play the Yankees waaaaaaaaay tougher than the poor little Twins. Thank god they don't get to make the playoffs by beating the Royals, Tigers, and Indians all year. We'd actually have to work in the ALDS if we had to play Toronto.

The Yankees offense is definitely better than Philadelphia's and I'll take the Yankees' bullpen, too. The Phillies have Madsen and I'm not afraid of any of the others. Lidge is a shaky closer.

They are better indeed but saying 10 times better you make yourself a fool and put you on top with some of PSD's worst poster..lol:speechless:

Oswalt may have been better than andy in the reg season but I will take Andy any day any time over him in the playoffs..Remember last year?

Hughes wins may have increased due to big run support but at least he won a playoff game for us and he even shut down your twinkies for 7 innings.. So have your better ERA help you win a game? I guess not..LOL
I'll take playoff ERA and wins over any regular season..

it obviously hurt the twins that morneau wasnt available for this series. the twins main problem is that other than liriano, they really dont have a shut down pitcher capable of producing a bunch of k's. in the american league especially, if you dont have guys capable of producing k's you will have a tough time beating teams like the yanks. in a hypothetical situation, if you add a healthy morneau and the twins were able to get lee at the deadline this series could have gone the other way. whether its the rangers or rays, the yanks will have a tough series next and it all depends on whether pettite and hughes can be effective in their starts.

They just spanked the Twinkies. Our offense was hitting on all cylinders and our pitching was tremendous. Texas/Tampa Bay has no idea what's coming at them in 6 days, go YANKS!!!!

Sucks for the Twins because they are a good team, just can't seem to finish off the game and get the W.

Sorry to say it, but a 13 game winner will be winning the Cy Young award this year, not the 21 game winner from a Yankee team who basically provided him 4+ extra wins.

stop *****ing. it was a great, competitive series, and you should be happy that your team got a chance to be in the playoffs. damn, i hate you kind of fans.

Wow. You guys must be young Yankee fans, because anyone with a mind would know when I said 10 times that was obvious exaggeration.

To answer a few statements from this page:

The Twins hit poorly, 0-10 with RISP in the first two games is terrible. Sabathia got hit around in game one.. If the Twins could have hit with RISP in any of the three games they would have had a chance. It wasn't the Yankee pitchers... The Twins beat themselves. (And that missed strike call in game 2 didn't help) There was nothing that neither Pettitte nor Hughes threw that was unhittable.

The Rangers are younger, sure that might make them less experienced, but the Yankee players are old and it shows. To say young teams haven't dominated in the playoffs before is an invalid statement. The Marlins, Cardinals, Angels, Rockies, and Rays have all either made or won the world series in this decade with very young teams.

I am not making excuses. So please don't keep trying to blast me, or any other Twins fan on here. If you watched the series you would know the Twins beat themselves, the Yankees just capitalized. The Yankees all know how to capitalize on the other teams' mistakes, which is why they have been so successful in recent years in the postseason.

That is all I have to say. Anyone who says I am a horrible poster needs to look in the mirror. I have my views on it, but I am in no way deceiving that the Yankees won the series.

Good luck.

 So the Yankee pitchers had nothing to do with the Twins hitters not getting hits with RISP. Yeah that make a whole lot of sense, pitchers having nothing to do with hitters not hitting. The Twins had a total of 9 hits in 14 innings vs Pettite and Hughes. They were not hitting period. The Twins hit .216 as a team the whole series.

Missed strike? You mean the same call Pettitte got the inning before when he thought he was out of the inning?

You're just a whiny and sad Twins fan who is going to hitch a ride onto the next team that plays the Yankees hoping the Yankees lose. You have to do this because your team could not get the job done.

Buddy, get real.

This entire post is gibberish. I understand you're all butt hurt from the whipping the Yanks put on your Twins, but at least have a little class when you post...using the missed strike call as an excuse is as lame as it gets and when a team doesn't hit you look at the pitching and tip your hat.
