If Denver trades Mello what about Chauncey Billups? Will he be the next to be gone? If he is where will he go? I donít really see New Orleans trading CP3 any time soon, but I donít think Billups would be a bad constellation prize. He would be the perfect fit for Orlando. They could offer Nelson as the center piece of a nice package headed back to Denver. What do you think?

He'll be traded if Melo leaves. No doubt.

God I'd love Chauncey on the Kings. A Chauncey Tyreke backcourt makes me wet.

He'll be gone for sure. The question is where... the Heat?

I could see that though i think an better fit would be in philly, or i can see Denver trading him to Miami if Melo goes East just to spike him.

I truly don't see him wanting to leave. He loves the city of Denver. I do think they do owe it to him to trade him if he does want to go however.

i'm sure they'd want picks, i dont know if the Heat have any left, but if they do, the Nuggets will do it.

If they do, it will be somewhere around 27+ anyways, u know.. them already winning the championship already according to media and homer fans.

I think the team will honor his wishes. Pretty much, if Melo's gone, the Nuggets are rebuilding. So if he wants to be more of a player coach to help with the development of the young guys (in particular Lawson and Afflalo), help usher in the next stage of the Nuggets, and become a permanent fixture of the organization, I'm sure that's one possibility, and the team would probably work out a deal with him that he'd opt out and extend on the cheap.

If he doesn't want to be on a rebuilding team (he indicated he probably wouldn't during the FIBA tournament), and would rather play somewhere that'll be more competitive, I'm sure the Nuggets would (regretfully) respect that position and try to find a good trade destination for him.

I would feel bad for him. We ( = the Pistons) traded him to DENVER, because that's his hometown and he wants to retire there... and now the Nuggets want to trade him. That's ****ed up

Maybe he'll come back to Detroit?:D no just kiddin' ;)

This much of your post is definitely true. Picks and cap relief is what the Nuggets would be fishing for, no doubt.

Over the offseason, Jeremy Wagner at the Nuggets blog RMC was proposing he be sent to Charlotte for Damp & picks. But of course, that's impossible now.

Pretty much any team in the league could use him, and for a lot of team he could be the difference between a 42 win season and 1st round exit and being a genuine contender.

God, i'd love him on the Knicks...

I don't see teams lining up for his contract.

I think they would just not pick up his contract for next year and he'll sign somewhere for MLE money(if it still exists)

Chauncey's hometown is Denver. He'll retire there win or lose.

I do not know if he will decide to leave Denver since that is his hometown and he has made it clearly obvious that he loves the city. I think that if/when Melo leaves they should give Chauncey the option to stay or leave... and I think he will go to a title contender such as Miami, LA or Orlando

He's staying.

Title contenders? He already has a ring. Not like he's desperate to chase a ring.
More probably playing for that last paycheck.

^Thats a terrible assesment. He already has a ring so he's just playing for a paycheck... Billups is a beast, gives it his all, and says he wants to play for a few more years after this contract.
