All primes, which duo would you rather have?

09-26-2010, 11:06 PM
I'd probably go with KG and Roy

09-26-2010, 11:29 PM
I would pick the one that has Garnett's name on it because none of Dirk/Melo plays defense.

Garnett and Roy quite easily. Both Melo and Dirk are volume shooters. Garnett and Roy would mesh a lot better and both are much better defensively also.

Dirk and Melo

09-27-2010, 12:45 PM
Dirk and Melo all day everyday!

09-27-2010, 04:03 PM
KG/Roy and it's not even close.

KG prime is better than anyone else in that conversation. KG prime can do EVERYTHING on offense including shoot a 3. Dirk, while a better shooter and therefore slightly better offensively, does not even lick the bottom of prime KG's shoes as an all-around player.

The margin between Melo and Roy will never be big enough to make up for the chasm between KG and Dirk.

Not to mention Roy is a much better defender than Melo and we know what KG is capable of when he has a team that can play defense around him.

This one is not even close.

Garnett and Roy for sure.

Prime: KG and Roy easily

Right Now: Melo and Dirk easily

Dirk n Melo

09-27-2010, 07:46 PM
KG's D gives him and Roy the edge.

09-27-2010, 07:47 PM
KG and Roy

I didn't see the prime bit.

Primes: KG & Roy
Now: Dirk & Melo

10-01-2010, 07:04 PM
KG and Roy... Deffensive, Offensive.
Dirk and Melo... Offensive, Offensive.
KG and Roy my choose.

10-02-2010, 11:05 AM
KG and Roy has leadership and defensive, easy decision

10-02-2010, 07:05 PM
Garnett and Roy, and it isn't even close.

10-04-2010, 12:42 PM
everyone keeps talking about garnett's stellar defense. How about the fact that He and Roy are both far superior passers as well

10-04-2010, 01:27 PM
KG/Roy, and its in a runaway.

During their primes? This isn't even a question. KG and Roy.

KG and Roy, although they are not as great of scorers as Nowitski (most versatile scoring big man of all time) and Melo, they can still both score enough. KG never could score like Dirk but KG in his prime was a very versatile scorer. Roy is more of a facilitator than Melo and that may be more valuable. Adding the defense of KG in, and that wraps it up. KG on defense is more valuable than Dirk and Melo combined. Roy isn't a bad defender either. KG is one of the all time greats, especially on the defensive end. A lot of people tend to forget how great of a rebounder KG was during his prime too.

KG (prime) > Dirk
Roy = Melo (I am giving this one the benefit of the doubt because I would personally take Roy but it is not a certainty)

Kg and Roy in their prime, but Dirk and Melo today.

10-06-2010, 08:37 AM
in prime: kg+roy
today:dirk and melo

10-06-2010, 03:08 PM
Roy/KG and it is not close, just the better mix of skillsets.

KG in his prime was a monster. So with that said KG and Roy all day!!!
