LA Lakers will have the Homecourt Advantage

FIRST ROUND

LA Lakers vs Houston
Winner: Vote here!

The total of votes for each team will be counted (all 4 options together) and the team with the higher total wins. Eventually, the result will be the option with the most votes (out of 4 options) of the team that has the most votes altogether.

Example:

If the option which has been voted most out of all 8 in the poll is "Memphis in 6" (20 votes), it doesn't necessarily mean that Memphis has won. If Memphis has 50 votes (Memphis in 4, 5, 6 & 7 altogether), but New Orleans has 55 votes (New Orleans in 4, 5, 6 & 7 altogether), New Orleans is the winner, although it didn't have the most votes in any of its 4 single options. The option with the most votes of the winner (New Orleans) is the final result.

Let's say:
Memphis in 4 = 10 votes
Memphis in 5 = 5 votes
Memphis in 6 = 20 votes
Memphis in 7 = 15 votes
Total = 50 votes

Now lets say New Orleans has
New Orleans in 4 = 12
New Orleans in 5 = 13
New Orleans in 6 = 17
New Orleans in 7 = 13
Total = 55 votes
The winner would be New Orleans in 6 since they would have the most votes total overall and thus the option for them that was voted the most is New Orleans in 6 would become the final result.

Rockets are one team that would be prepared to beat LA and since I am assumming everyone is healthy I think Houston could pull the upset. Not saying they will, but I believe they would be a greater challenge than Oklahoma City was last year.

Because of the question marks over Houston's health, Lakers in 7. If Rockets were fully healthy for this entire series though, I'd take Rockets in 7.

with a healthy houston squad this one will be the toughest match up of the postseason for the lakers if they meet up. however, with a healthy laker squad (that we have yet to witness), i have to go LA in 6 with a comfortable victory.

a couple year ago the rockets had artest who was a part of their scoring big time. they lost him. they lost ariza. even with yao back they dont have that same intensity and scoring ability they did a couple years ago. imo. or the same defense.

Houston is an interesting team to watch this year. I could see them making it to the second round... as long as they aren't the #8 seed going against LA.

Lakers in 6.

why does everyone think the rockets cant compete against the lakers? the rockets starting line up is very good and their bench is also very good, i think betterthan the lakers. i voted rockets in 7 cuz im a houston fan but if i had to bet i would say lakers in 6 at the least...no way houston doesnt put up a fight...brooks,martin,battier,scola,yao...to much talent to go out in 5..and no not an easy series for the lakers

I wouldn't say easy. Rockets play good d and they are pretty tough. Plus they have a great big man and a small fast point guard. We all know the Lakers struggle with that type of player. Lakers in a hard fought 6 games

Rockets had an advantage against the Lakers with Yao out and Landry and Hayes underneath the paint.

They also have the potential of multiple injuries: Yao, K-Mart, even Battier.

The reason I mentioned Yao and Kevin Martin is because they are known to get injured.

The western conference has more depth, and I'd say Lakers in 6. Gotta remember that the 8th spot out west typically wins 50 games, which is close to 4th out east.

If both teams are healthy the rockets win it in 6. The lakers dynasty will fall sooner or later and the rockets are among the few teams in the league who aren't scared of the lakers and matchup with them very very well. The lakers win alot of games by punking out their opponent and houston doesn't get pushed around rockets in 6 or 7 either way they win the series. And everyone thinking it would be an easy series for the lakers are going to have an eye opening suprise come opening night. Remember we took your lakers to 7 games with bench players and no yao or tmac you better come ready to play opening night.

LA in 7. I would not be a bit surprised if Houston won the series however.
