You have the 1st pick. J Wall, Rubio, B Griffin, B Lopez, S Curry, who do u build around why?

Do you go with the safer pick in Lopez, or do you take more of a gamble with a guy like Rubio?

Your thoughts....

I choose Black Griffin. I just think he has so much upside. He is retardedly athletic. I can honestly see him dribbling the ball down court to set up the offense in a couple years. Not on a regular basis, but on occasion. The sooner he leaves the Clippers the better, leaving the Clippers will probably help him stay healthy too.

I'm not completely sold on John Wall still. I think there is more hype than substance there. Yes, he is very athletic and quick, but I'm not convinced he can master the NBA game.

Curry or Lopez. I can't decide. You ether gotta start with a dominant shooter or a shutdown Center

Im taking Griffin, he's the most talented of the group, a special talent that excels at both ends of the floor. He has the injury he's getting past which is a red flag but as long as that checks out i couldnt pass on this kind of talent.

I would like a playmaker like Wall on my squad. Whether or not he's played a minute in the NBA is irrelevant, I think, because it's MY pick ;)

what's with this Rubio hype? He can be a great pass-first PG, but that's about it. Maybe an above average defender as well

1. John Wall- There are no sure things in the draft, but PG's like this kid are the closest thing to it.

2. Brook Lopez- He's young, fundamentally sound, and looks to have a great body for the NBA. Legit NBA C's are so hard to find, man...

3. Stephen Curry- I love this kid's game. He has the chance to be a historically good shooter.

4. Blake Griffin- Knowing what I know now? How is this even a fair choice when he spent his first season on the injured list?

5. Ricky Rubio- I'd have to hire an extra person for the coaching staff just to cut his steak for him. Plus he looks like the Spanish Harry Potter. Plus I love to hate him in the face of all the senseless support he gets even after a terrible performance like the worlds.

i don't know if i want to build around a PG if i had the choice of another great player at a different position.

i mean, how successful were nash's teams? what about CP3, deron, kidd?

and right now, i don't know if rubio/curry/wall would ever be at nash, cp3, deron, kidd's level at their prime.

i'd probably take lopez, then griffin.

biased based on what?? im not spanish, im not a timberolves fan, im not a fan of any particular euroleague team. i have no biased. i simply think hes an amazing player and love him based on his talent alone, which is the most unbiased form of liking a player. so quite the contrary, im completely unbiased

lopez--- proven centers dont grow on trees
curry--- had a very good rookie year and will only get better
---------these 3 are still unproven--------
griffin--- good bigs are hard to find... if he pans outs
rubio--- pass first pgs are a dying bread
wall--- not a big fan of zero guards

I have to seperate them into two groups. Player who have already played in the NBA, we know what we will get, and the others

Curry
Lopez

Wall
Rubio
Griffin

That's what I was thinking. Lopez and Curry are proven to be capable of playing in the NBA, whereas Wall and Rubio have yet to play and Griffin had that terrible injury.

Personally I would take Lopez over Curry. I love them both, but as far as young players go, a 22 year old big man coming off a 19 & 9 season is invaluable in my opinion.

yeah, I had to think about Curry vs Lopez, and the demands for good centers. I guess it would be 1a and 1b. I think Curry will be a nightmare in the pick and roll, ala, Nash, and Lopez could be a top 4 center by next season. Can't go wrong with either

I agree with you to a certain extent but I'm sure that's exactly what Portland was thinking when they chose Oden over Durant and Bowie over Jordan (no, I am not comparing Wall to Jordan or even Durant).
