we have seen this with boston and la in particular but should teams rest their players during the season as if it is (for lack of a better term) meaningless. i know the playoffs is where its at but shouldnt all teams go all out every game and if not try and break that 72-10 record ? i know its not an easy task but do you agree?

if they are old or injured, or if trends show they don't play well with major minutes (Joe Johnson), then yes, they should monitor

Of course. It's all about just doing enough to get to the playoffs (while still earning a respectable seed) and then going from there. Take the Celtics of this past season, for example. If they didn't monitor their players' minutes, they would have been completely burnt out by time the postseason rolled around.

Do whatever it takes to win a championship. Period.

Don't the results speak for themselves?

yes. less minutes is more for playoff time. getting 16 wins is better than breaking 72-10.
