It didn't look like any of the fans were paying any attention, in fact, it seemed like it took them forever to even realize that someone had been hit and that the ball came that way.

No, especially when somebody yells at the top of their lungs...."HEADS UP!" I really can't feel bad for him....plus he has mass media coverage now.

idk what he was doing, he wasnt even talking to anyone or anything. It seemed like all the fans were hyponotized or something except the one who was videotaping it obviously. I dont understand how you wouldnt be able to notice/hear it coming.

Ouch. I hope he's okay.

One time at Busch Stadium I was milling around and I saw a lady being carried on a cart and she had a towel pressed to her head. I think that was a foul, though.

That's why at 33 years old, I STILL bring my glove to EVERY game. It's not just a matter of "feeling young"...it's that with a glove, I can continue to "be alive" in a situation like that. He's just lucky it was a homerun and not just past the on-deck circle. Potential insta-death!

Funny story though. One time I had my glove with me, but was sitting on it. Mike Cameron came out and threw the ball RIGHT AT ME. Of course I had just purchased a 10 dollar cocktail and had a hotdog in my other hand. The ball hit me square in the chest, and I spilled my drink all over myself (while someone else got the ball). Good thing I had my glove with me!
