Hey guys, Some of you may remember that for the last two years I have conducted a poll at the end of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. Its is now that time to vote! I would like to start this up once more considering the NBA season is now over and we can get to this discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round. I have also included the results of those last 2 years so everyone can see how much things have changed...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best.

David West, CP3 is back so you will see him put up big numbers

isnt it funny that if he gets chosen he will be voted #10 three years in a row??

Randolph has to have one more year like last season to be in the top 10

LaMarcus Aldridge, i think you could argue for zach randolph, but If the blazers replaced randolph with aldridge wouldn't that say aldridge is better?

Scola is solid.

going homer from here on out.
Love

He is very efficient, and is going to have a big year statistically

Give some more love to ALDRIDGE!!!! he is the number two guy on the blazers 50+ win team, he would smash on Randoloph and Love one on one

I voted Aldridge, but you can't go wrong with him, Love or Randolph here.

He's a SF trapped in a PF's body lol

I would rather have love to be honest

how does being a good one on one player mean anything?

Exactly. JR Smith would be an all star every year if the NBA was only about one on one

Z-Bo should have been #9. David Lee has inflated stats because he plays in a run and gun systems

NY was like 12th or so in pace. Its a myth that Lee played in a fast paced system

Z-Bo put up 20-10 with three or four other teams and yet he still ranks #10? or maybe not even that since people are still voting. Z-Bo is very underrated.

Other then this year he didn't make the all-star because people said he played in bad teams but yet its ok for David lee to make the all-star when his team is near bottom?

yeah, you make a great point. But here it is. In the west, you dont win, you don't make it to the all star game.
And Zach had a great season out of nowhere. His numbers have been fairly hollow, efficiency wise, to date.
Lee is a fine player, but he is not really better than ZBo.

I agree but I wouldn't say out of no where, its just people really didn't notice him because he played for bad teams and he sometimes gets way to happy with shooting the three ball and he was sometimes inconsistent.

it's because of his attitude people seem to think just because your attitude is poor so is your game

Head-to-head is a terrible reason to put one player over another.

BlazingJ
09-05-2010, 10:39 PM
For the one on one thing, if it is a look at who is individually better, i think a game of one on one would work. however it does take away one's rebounding and passing game. so i guess one on one would only determine offense and defense. so it does have it's flaws..

BlazingJ
09-05-2010, 10:44 PM
Oh and Zach can't play D. Or jump:D and is a black hole on offense. that is why he gets such great stats

TehSamurai
09-05-2010, 10:44 PM
No, one on one is flawed because there are 30 teams in the league, so one player playing better against another head-to-head is meaningless because there are still 28 other teams and 78-80 more games.

Scooola, but Zach will win it

I went Aldridge.

As for the Lee-Randolph debate, I went Lee because they both are good scorers and rebounders with **** defense but Lee hustles all the time and is a better passer.

LaMarcus Aldridge

This poll is very very lopsided...Everyone of these players has flaws but Lemarcus Aldridge is no doubt better then the other 6 players. He has a bigger role on a team that is better then the teams that these other players listed are on.

i picked zbo last time and im going to pick zbo again he is the pick here

the PF position just from these disscussions on the poll is the deepest postion in the NBA to date there are still good PFs out there to choose from but it shows u how deep the postion is

now lets just close this thread and start the center debate

i cant wait to debate eric dampier vs joel anthony!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Randolph for sure, but after this season Kevin Love will be getting a lot more votes around the #6-8 range.

Actually, his efficiency did come out of nowhere, youre just missing out on exactly how much better his stats have been this past season. It's the most efficient he's EVER BEEN.

some tough choices. i took zbo, say what you will but the man can play the game and got his head somewhat together last season. love could very well put up similar numbers and brings intelligence to the court as well. the only guy that i think really doesn't belong in the discussion is jamison. west and aldridge are similar players. zbo and love hit the boards, they are a cut above.

edit: scola is also very solid, super scrappy but deceptively skilled.

Aldridge is a good player but he stays on the perimeter way too much...With all the injuries portland had he should have stepped up but he didnt...
