The Bulls have not given up hope of acquiring Rudy Fernandez from the Trail Blazers by trade.

Chicago and Portland have discussed a deal that would swap a first-round pick for Fernandez but the Blazers continue to hold out for more compensation.

Looks like every team is still after Fernandez.

I think we need to have an official Rudy Fernandez discussion thread. You can bet however if he ever happens to log on to PSD and see it he'd have even more reason to say he's a superstar. ;)

isn't a first round pick what new york turned down sending to portland? so why not accept the bulls? well i guess they figure new yorks pick could be a pretty decent one while the bulls first round pick will most likely be in the 20's

like another poster said in a previous thread, why are the blazers holding out for a lottery pick? Rudy after all was a 24th pick himself.

But as Hellcrooner is saying the blazers are basically attempting to black ball Rudy. They do not want to send him somewhere where he'd be likely to receive adequate playing time. He's figured to be a starter on both the Knicks and Bulls.

Hopefully the Blazers wait it out for a bit, see if they can get more, and then when they realize they won't, bam! Rudy to Chicago for a 1st round pick, when everybody least expects it.

Never seen such a lame get so much press.

Still dont think Rudy is worth a 1st

^THIS. If he doesn't like his role or the coach's ideas he'll just throw more tantrums and go back to Europe, and whatever team traded for him is now left with nothing.

Rudy's definitely not worth a 1st.

If fernandez comes to chicago, we have so many diferent linup to throw out there

1) Starting

Rose
Rudy ( we need the 3pt shooting in the starting linup
Deng
Boozer
Noah

Defense

Rose( or watson ??? )
Brewer
Deng
Taj
Noah/Asik

Athletic

Rose
Rudy
Brewer
Boozer
Noah

3pt

Rose/Watson
Rudy
Korver
Taj/Boozer/Deng
Noah/Asik

we would have exactly any counter to any option thrown on the floor. Would the bulls win a champinship, maybe maybe not, but they would have the tallent to throw out on the floor to.

He would fit in perfectly. His shooting ability, athleticism, back cuts, and hustle make him a stellar threat in any role.

I would much rather give them JJ and a second rounder then a first rounder.

I'd rather give them a Milk Shake, unfortunately Portland is very very hard to deal with. They seem to never want to make trades that help both sides. Either they win big in a trade or just forget about it. I really really hope one day they need something and teams tell them to **** off.

They should make a pity trade for how stupid we were trading Aldridge for Thomas.

Well, the Aldridge/Thomas trade isn't as bad as some people think. He's below average in all four of his seasons in eFG%, ts%, and reb%. He's really just "average" at best.

Anyway, i agree. Portland should accept the Bulls own first + JJ because they won't get any more offers than that (excluding NY). There decreasing his value

Honestly, I don't even want to give up a first for Rudy anymore....Blazers are screwing themselves imo and would give them jj + a 2nd rounder.

 You obviously haven't seen too much of Rudy, nothing against the Bulls cause I actually like that team. But if anyone expects for Rudy to be a major differencemaker, than they are setting themsleves up for dissapointment.

Funny how everyone says that Rudy's value is sinking lower and lower and everyday we hear about another team that is still interested in him.

If his value is so low, how come everybody is after him?

I agree. The only reason he is getting attention is that nothing else is going on right now. The Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony stuff is dieing down. This is off-season filler that Rudy has confused with stardom. Friggin Luther Head is making headlines.
