With the departure of Amare Stoudamire and Carlos Boozer from the West it now opens two vacancies for players at the PF/C positions. Which big(s) if any do you guys think will be making their first ASG appearance next season?

I must apologize to the Blake Griffin/Clippers fans I honestly forgot to include him in the poll.

Blake Griffin won't make it in his rookie year anyways.

out of the list i think big al or bynum have the best chance to make it out of the list you have
with amare and booz out the pf/c is more open and david west ( in my opnion)
is n't getting any better only going down hill

also i like kaman but i don't think he is going to have monster year he has last year with giffren
the stats i see him putting is 15-17 with 9-10 rebound

Im rooting for Marc Gasol--excellent young center

I went with LaMarcus Aldridge as a dark horse.

If Oden stays healthy I can actually see that having a positive effect on Aldridge's game. I also think the Blazers will surprise a ton of people (once again, if Oden stays healthy) and with the record I think they'll reach, they'll deserve more than one All-Star (Brandon Roy).

I think with the help of D-Will, Al Jeff could possibly make it.

You make that sound far-fetched.

It isn't at all he was basically an all star all by himself. Now that he is the starting PF on DWill's team I see him making it quite easily.

Al Jefferson.

He will finally be on a winning team which should translate into individual success as well.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say Robin Lopez because with no amare he is really the suns only down low option.

Though Al Jefferson is the most likely/logical choice IMO I'd really go out on a limb here and say that Greg Oden is going to make his first ASG appearance. Obviously he'd have to remain on the court. If he does his impact may lead the blazers to the #2 seed out west.

Hmmmm Andrew Bynum already has 10 votes and is currently in 2nd place but no one is yet to post supporting him or a reason for their decision.

Playing for the Nets in the Eastern Conference.
I'm guessing you're thinking of Robin Lopez of the Suns. I think he'd have to make a huge jump to make it to the ASG.

I voted for Bynum and imo it only depends on health....If he can stay healthy most of the season he will be an all-star

heyman321

Scola should make one as reserve. He is vastly under-rated.

Voted for Bynum because I think it will be a center. Duncan, Dirk, Pau Gasol and Yao should all be locks. Yoa is the only one that's a true center. It's either Bynum or Al. Total homer pick for me.

Bynum, ONLY if healthy.

DWill will either help Big Al become an allstar, or come very very close, since its so competitive, he could have a beasty year and still not make it

the asg is a popularity contest and he's on the most popular team in the league.coupled with when he's healthy he isnt bad...yeah he'll get in

also should have added lee to the poll, already an allstar and now in the west

exactly he was already an all star doesn't make a difference if he changed conferences he made the team.

Oh and I forgot to address that earlier. Unless Bynum is having a good enough season to merit him being voted as a starter. Once Yao is healthy we know where that is going to go. Andrew Bynum is no Allen Iverson/Vince Carter he would not be voted in just on popularity. He'd have to earn his slot as a reserve. Provided Yao is healthy however.

David Lee. First appearance as a Western Conference player

its possible, if him and curry play well together (which they probably should.. both being pick and roll players), david lee could put up some massive numbers in a fast pace offense like golden state.

Al Jefferson. He put up all star numbers in 2 healthy seasons, the only thing holding him was wins. That wont be the case anymore

I know saying Scola seems like a homer vote for me, but I say that for a reason. T-mac was voted in last season as a Rocket. Ariza was almost voted in as a Rocket. The Chinese fanbase loves the Rockets and they do a lot of voting.

I agree here.
If not Oden, then probably AJ.

I would have also included David Lee and Robin Lopez in the poll too.

EDIT: Nevermind. I forgot Lee made it last year. Though it took players dropping out for one reason or another to make it if I'm not mistaken. So maybe he would count considering that and that he's in a new conference.

While true, Robin has a better shot right now at making the ASG than Oden and Cousins.

Why, are you expecting Oden to get hurt again?

Al Jefferson b/c its his time. Finally is on a good team and playing with a great PG.

Marc Gasol has an advantage though b/c he is an ACTUAL center and the only PF who got the Center nod was Amare (who is on the Est now).

David Lee can fill one of the vacancies as well though. He has payed his dues already and is respected with his first allstar appearance last yr.

jackdawson
09-05-2010, 03:51 PM
If Oden stays healthy he will be voted in for sure. Dude put up 11.1 ppg/8.5 rpg/ 2.3 bpg in just 23.9 minutes. Now imagine if he can play like 33-35 mpg (which very unlikely because blazers will limit his minutes for firs half of the season for sure).
