View Full Version : Who should win the NL Cy Young Award?

As much as I love Ubaldo Jimenez, I feel without a doubt that Adam Wainwright should win the NL Cy Young Award. The guy has had a much better ERA and WHIP. He has pitched consistently well all year while Jimenez has had alot of bad starts lately. I felt Wainwright was absolutely robbed of a Cy Young Award last year and I feel that this year should finally be the year he wins it.

Halladay... The Phillies have really hurt him this year... In his last start he gave up 3 runs in 7 innings and had to be taken out for a pinch hitter with 72 pitches thrown. He has to go out there and basically feel like he has to pitch to perfection every time and even he admitted he tries to do to much. Him first Wain 2nd and Johnson 3rd. Would not be upset if either of the 3 got it.

I wouldn't be disappointed if either Halladay or Wainwright won the award, but if I had to pick 1, it would be Doc Halladay. They have very similar stats, and if they finish the year with comparable stats, the perfect game will put Doc over the edge.

Halladay, no doubt.

Not no doubt. Right now him and Wainwright are neck and neck.

Also, I have nothing against Halladay (even though I am a Met fan). He is a beast. I just feel that Wainwright has had too good a year to not be a favorite.

Wainwright, then Halladay, then J. Johnson, then Ubaldo

I think you got it right except switch Ubaldo with Latos. Latos has been waaaay more consistent

it's gotta be halladay right now, without even throwing out stats (which are for the most part equal across the board w/ wainwright), halladay has thrown 17 more innings so far, and will probably be at least 20-25 more then wainwright, which is a big deal.

I agree. He should of won the CY Young last season. He is my leader right now.

He wasn't even the best pitcher on his team last season.

He's been great this year but Halladay's still just a bit better.

I agree. He should of won the CY Young last season. He is my leader right now.

he was actually much closer to being the 5th best pitcher then the best pitcher last year. lincecum, carpenter, vazquez, and haren were equal or better then wainwright last year.

I agree. He should of won the CY Young last season. He is my leader right now.

He has pitched very well and probably right now would be the runner up because Halladay has been better. He deserves credit but he should not get a nudge over Halladay because people think he got robbed last year. There were more deserving pitchers last year and a more deserving pitcher this year.
