Who are yours?

I think the Wizards could possibly in the East. They get a healthy(?) Arenas back along with adding Wall.

In the West im going to say the Hornets with CP3 back.

I have the Rockets out West.

Maybe even without a healthy Yao, they could probably pull it off if everyone else is healthy.

I'd say memphis....new orleans is kinda a given if cp3 is healthy with ariza

in the east, I don't really know, maybe the Wizards

Wiz are my sleeper East playoff team. Its the east, so not really a sleeper. And if they are the team that ends up with Melo next year, they can become a real problem in the east very soon.

if Healthy the Pistons are an they'll be at least a 5 seed, the talent on this team isn't that bad at all, I know i know i know , we don't have a big man an Stuckey isn't a tru PG....Lets move past that Deez boyz have the talent on this roster to make some noise quietly...... Better yet we will be in the playoffs BOOK IT!!

I love the enthusiasm but 5th seed is pushing it lol

I think the Pistons can be the 7th or 8th seed

I've been saying the Nets for a while, but I certainly don't think they WILL. I think they could, however. I don't think they were nearly as bad as their record suggests last year; they battled with injuries, and just never got it going. I love the Murphy trade. I think Williams will be a stud, and an all-star someday. Lopez and Harris are all-star caliber players. Their bench is solid, not great, but solid with Farmar, Morrow, Favors, Ross and Petro. I think Favors actually will be able to contribute a bit right off the bat.

Memphis could sneak in. I wouldn't be absolutely shocked if Houston made it either.

Not drinking Washington's cool-aid.

Lol C'mon bro in 2004 they did everything but crown the lakers as champs that year until we dismantle that dynasty.....5th seed to me not as far fetched as one would think......lol

I don't know that 8th spot is up for grabs it seems and there are plenty of teams witht the talent. I all really comes down to who plays together the best.

I think the Nets under Avery Johnson with a great chemistry and confidence can easily get 8th seed.

Harris/Farmar/TWill/Uzoh?
TWill/Morrow/Ross
Outlaw/James
Murphy/Favors/Humphries/May?
Lopez/Petro/Zoubek?

?=Ungaurenteed contracts

I'd say that's pretty damn solid and surprise worthy. If a basketball team with that much talent can mesh then they can win 30-40 games which may be 8th seed or may be 12th....

totally forgot the Pacers. With Collision, and healthy Granger, and Hibbert growing, they could be a disruptive team next year.

I dont think you can label the Grizz as sleepers. I see them getting in with the talent they have, not just sneaking in, maybe 6-8 seed in the west.

Not in one of the toughest divisions in the NBA. Wizards will contend for a top 10 pick.

Take a peek at these matchups they have to play 4 times:
Celtics, Magic, Hawks, Heat, Bulls, Bucks.

They play every team favored to make the playoffs 4 times. They will be in the lottery.

Ohh Kinda like last year when they nearly made the playoffs playing without Yao for the entire season  I think Indiana will make the playoffs

I like the Nets in the east too. I'm not a Net fan by any means. I think a full season with Lopez and Harris healthy will help them tremendously.

A rotation of:

Harris/Farmar
Morrow/Williams
Outlaw/Williams/Hayes
Murphy/Favors/Humphries
Lopez/Favors/Boone

I think with Harris and Lopez there's a decent, and young, supporting cast around them. Morrow is a good shooter who if he catches fire can be tough to stop. He averaged 14.5 and 4.5 rebounds in games he started last year while shooting 45% from the field and 44% from 3. I don't think they finish over .500, but I think they can compete for the 8th spot in the playoffs. Avery Johnson will help as well. He'll toughen this group up. Farmar is a great addition, the triangle slowed him down a little in LA, he can get to the rim and hit the 3. I don't think this is as crazy as other people are making it. I could def see a Buck like year from them. Lopez is every bit as good as Bogut and I like Harris as a complete player more than Jennings.

I agree but very few have that mindset. We could have made a run at the playoffs last year without the mental breakdowns down the stretch and the Iverson debacle. We have gotten better since last year, and return our main core, plus teams like SA are aging and we dont know how the jazz, rockets, nuggets, and suns will mesh with their new stars or current situations

Couple roster fixes. I'm still confused on Hayes as for Josh Boone he's a free agent. Hayes might be coming back and you forgot about Damion James and Johan Petro.

.. yes, actually. They were a 9th seed last year just incase you forgot, which I think you did. 8 wins away from actually making the playoffs.

A full off-season together should do them good, if Kevin Martin is healthy which he should, the Rockets should be tough to beat. They also have a speedy young point guard in Brooks who is making a name for himself. Ariza who was a chucker in Houston is now gone and they've added Courtney Lee whom will have a share of his if all goes well.

Luis Scola, Shane Battier, and the new addition of Brad Miller could help the Rockets sneak into the playoffs.

The title of the thread includes the words "Surprise teams", in which if they don't have Yao fully healthy and they make the playoffs, i'd classify that as a "surprise".

But whatever I guess it's just me. You don't think the Rockets will make it but you have Indiana ...

In the east Wizards and maybe Pacers
In the west NO with healthy CP3 and new guns in Ariza and Belinelli
Clippers if Griffin stays healthy and maybe even Kings
I see Nuggets and Suns dropping from the playoffs

Yeah sorry I don't watch a ton that was off the top of my head. I knew Petro, but I didn't include him because I just assumed he wouldn't play a ton. Damion James completely slipped my mind.

That's my vote... but really depends on your front court.

If Hibbert has a break out season, you have a good chance... but otherwise you have no shot with Hibbert of 09, McRoberts, Foster, and Pyscho "Ear" being your front court rotation.

Houston...a healthy Yao and young guards might allow them for 7th or 6th (if not 8th)
