View Full Version : How do the duo of LeBron & Wade in Miami compare to Kobe & Shaq in LA?

In the late 90s to early 2000s the Lakers had an outside/inside threat with Kobe and Shaq - each player the among the best in the league at their respective positions. LeBron and Wade are arguably the most versatile and dangerous players in the game today teamed up with a third star in Bosh. Will LeBron & Wade in MIA have similar success to Kobe and Shaq in LA? Thoughts?

LeBron and Wade will obviously contend together but they aren't even close to the winners/competitors Kobe was. Shaq was also the most dominant player of all time. Only way you get a stop is if you fouled him or if he layed it in/dunked it too hard.

Talent-wise it is pretty even. But Shaq was a big man, and having that inside-outside combination was deadly. Wade and LeBron are very similar players in terms of where on the court they like to frequent. Shaq gives that duo the advantage.

LeBron and Wade can actually get along. There's no excuse for the Lakers not winning at least 5 ships with those 2. But I think this is one that can be measured pretty easily... in rings. So only time will tell.

This, but the Lakers only had a duo.

Difference with the Heat is that they have a trio, which is even more dangerous.

A big 2 or a big 3?

A big 3 is far more dangerous.

But, since only duo's are being compared, what Manram said is dead on.

How can arguably the best player in the league ride someone to get championship?

exept that Miami doesnt just have a "duo" they have a "trio". If you wanna compare the Miami "Trio" to anybody it has to be the Spurs or the Celtics.
