I hope they improve and make the playoffs. I like their starting 5, great offense and Ariza should definitely bring some defense. I don't think they'll reach their 2007-2008 level but they should be able to make the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed.

If all of their key players stay healthy then theres a possbility...but I dont think its gonna happen

i dont think chemistry will be there and west is tough. definetly not that high again, maybe sneak in as a late seed.

Health is the big issue. CP3 with Ariza and Thorton should be a very good backcourt
They could still use another scorer though imo

Yeah this is one team that HAS to stay healthy just to make the 8th seed, kind of like Memphis. Its just not likely to happen

they will be battling Houston, Memphis, and Phoenix for the 8th seed

I dont think they ever get back to that level with that current lineup they need to get a legit 1st option player and let CP3 control the offense kinda like what Nash does in PHX Amare was the 1st option but Nash ran the offense... If they can get that CP wouldnt have to score as much as he has too nownand set up everyone else..

Have to agree. Peja, Chandler and West had extremely good seasons in '07-'08.

Don't see them getting that kind of production with their current personnel.

Then, of course, there is the matter of Paul getting back to his high level of play.

all depends on whether CP3 can stay healthy...

So you don't think they will be able to win close to 55 games?

No, I don't think they'll be a top 2 team in the west. They could make the playoffs is their players stay healthy. They still have a pretty weak bench, especially down low.

I think they'll fight for one of the bottom 2 seeds in the West but that'll be it.

We can get the 4 - 7 seed. If we play well together. 4 only if we get production out of our bench, which is not great.

Some big hurdles to jump....

1) Will david west return to his all star form? if not, him and Okafor pose no offensive threat down low.

2) this one is simple, Health.

3) There is many improving teams i the west, it will be tough to squeek into the bottom of it IMO.

1.Lakers
2. Dallas
3.OKC
4.Denver (if Melo stays)
5. Portland
6. Utah
7.SA

Then you got Houston,Memphis,NO, Clippers( feels weird to say that),Phoenix,

It depends on CP3
I think they can be 7 or 8th seed and make some problems in the playoffs
With James and Wade playing together I think CP3 has a great chance to win MVP

I think their biggest moves this offseason has been their front office moves. They finally got rid of that bum Jeff Bower, so now we won't have to worry about horrible contracts anymore. It appears like every one on the team likes new head coach Monty Williams. I love addition of Trevor Ariza, but it scares me that we lost Collison.

I think we have a great shot at the playoffs as long as Paul stays healthy. If Paul gets hurt, then we will be n trouble. I can see them at least making the first round of the playoffs.

If this team has any injuries to its core, they are outside looking in for the playoffs. A team dependant on health is probably in trouble. But hey, at least Ariza won't look as bad with Paul there...

Go Hawkeyes!!

Peja staying healthy is a big part of it as well even with the addition of Ariza.

Back to the Hornets, if Peja can stay healthy, then that would help them tons cause then Thornton can come off the bench.

Yes, but the competition is bigger. Can`t say what seed, `cause the difference between a 7th and 3th is very little(aka 4-5 wins)

Didn't get a chance to watch the Hornets play much last year. Is Peja still good?

Nope not even close. They wont be top 5 west.

When healthy he is decent, but not worth his contract.

Im not saying they WILL, but i do beleive they have the better teams. Which team does NO have a better roster than?

if healthy they can make 7 or 8. They were keeping up last year until Paul got injured.

Yeah I agree, but I think they will be underrated this year with the addition with Ariza.

If Cp3 is back then I think he can lead them to the Playoffs a low seed of course.

Injuries are whats going to prevent them from making the playoffs. If they can keep that under control, then im sure they can at least make it

You don't need a great bench when you got an elite player.

you need something though, even if its only 7 deep. Which I think they have if they can avoid injuries to all their main players

No they won't be as good for a couple reasons. 1 they were the best team in the West until the Lakers hoodwinked Pau Gasol away from the Griz in 08.

The go to play was the pick n roll. It either ended in an alley, open shot, or cp3 scoring, and there was nothing the other teams could do except hope they missed. With Okafor the alley is taken out of that equation, and now the pick n roll is nowhere near as effective. That made us a jump shooting team.

The new team's guards are much better. Thornton beats out any combo of Mo Pete, Jannero Pargo. We still have Peja and an upgrade in Ariza. I just think that the loss of Chandler is bigger than ppl will ever give it credit for. If you look at the stats we were pretty good in 09 when Tyson was on the floor.
