View Full Version : dream lineup of guys 25 and under

Don Starks

Since it seems as though the next few years of NBA basketball are going to be dominated by the lakers, Heat, possibly Celtics depending on how long they hold up and the magic, make a starting lineup (with a 6th man) of guys you would like to see play together for the next 5-7 years that could compete against those teams. the only rule is that they have to be 25 or under.

every player and roster is fair game with the exception of Lebron because his place with the heat makes this question more interesting.

mine would be the same as the one in my signature.

PG- Steph Curry
SG- OJ Mayo
SF-Danillo Gallinari
PF-Anthony Randolph
C-Javale Mcgee

6th Man- Rudy Fernandez

I'm not saying Gallo's better than Durant or Mcgees better than Dwight, its just a team id like to watch and think could do well. I didnt say necessarily beat those teams, just compete.

also it seems too easy to say Dwight and Durant. Why don't you guys try being original instead of just throwing out the same old names over and over and over again.

It is easy because they are better. They are the "same old names" because they are the consensus best player at that position for whatever topic you are discussing.

Dont name the thread dream lineup if you mean best non allstars under 25.

Look, I know your a Knick fan, but dude stop being a HOMER! One thing about NYC fans is our bball knowledge and IQ. You have none of that with this lineup.

How could you forget guys like: Chris Paul, Rajan Rondo, Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose, Al Jefferson, etc.

Btw, Javal McGee averaged 16mpg on an empty Washington team.....which shows how much promise he shows.

***Maybe you should have put the rules are 25 and under and NO ALLSTAR appearances

????? Durant is more of a team player than Lebron (8.6apg vs. 3apg)! Rethink that.

Chris Paul is one of the best playmakers in the league. You would need that on a team of allstars.

To say that Lebron didnt do that on the Cavs is crazy. I think your just lost in the "Lebron James going to Miami suddenly makes him a worst bball player".

that lbjs stats have only got better when time went on so why wouldn't durants... and the team part matters because westbrook, green wtc are so young and has time goes on they will take better shots get better looks and will have better stats i mean they are going to be a great team your arguing with me over what because i stuck up for a person who picked someone who he thinks is going to be good.... you obv feel the same way if you compare him to larry bird

I like how you call me a homer but yet you boast that all NY Knicks fans have this high B-ball IQ. what is that based on again? is that a fact or an obnoctious opinion? I'm going to go with the latter in your case.

the best part about basketball is that players have individual games that make them exciting to watch, its more than just stats. if you watched basketball and didn't just place emphasis on stats you prob would understand that.

I didn't forget the guys you mentioned, I purposely left them out because either A)I said we should leave them out in Lebrons case, or B) preferred watching another players style to one that you mentioned.

I would rather watch Stephen Curry drain threes and control the floor rather then watch Derrick rose drive to the rack. I like McGees athleticism (minus the asthma questions) and even though his defense is shaky he has a combination of length, fluidity & agility that's impressive. At most I would switch him with Lopez.

I like Gallo's outside game, B-ball IQ and he showed flashes of being clutch last season. As for Randolph, despite him being on the knicks now I would have put him on the list anyway because I rooted for him all the time when he was on GSW.

why don't you stop hating because my idea of a good basketball lineup didn't fit into your safe little world of what makes a competitive team.

My choices (with back-ups) I broke the rules with a couple 26 yr olds...couldn't resist. If this doesn't qualify, use the back-up (or the younger one). Either way, a monster line-up of youngin's!

PG: Deron Williams (26 yr old)
back-up Brandon Jennings

SG: Brandon Roy(26 yr old)
back-up Tyreke Evans

SF: Kevin Durant
back-up Carmelo Anthony(26 yr old)

PF: Blake Griffin
back-up Joakim Noah

C: Dwight Howard
back-up Andrew Bynum

It really is hard to not figure in LBJ in this list. But, here it is anyways

and for the record. if Deron Williams isn't allowed, obviously Derrick Rose gets the nod...oh so indecisive
