When you look at their numbers, they are pretty much the same player.

So is Carmelo Anthony the modern day Dominique Wilkins without as much flash?

Numbers wise, there really might not be two more comparable players in the history of the game.

Both have each only been out of the first round one time, also (I'm not as high on Denver - or Melo - as most people are, and don't expect that to change much as long as he's playing in that city without another elite player).

So yeah, it's safe to say he is Rique part deux - minus the tomahawk jams and everything else that made Wilkins The Human Highlight Film.

Do you think Dominique Wilkins could win as a #1 option on a title contending team?

The best lineup Wilkins had was probably Doc Rivers, Reggie Theus, Nique, Kevin Willis and Moses Malone. Unfortunately Willis went down with an injury that year. That was a nice team.

No, I think he suits a James Worthy type of role.

I like Wilkins he was the greatest number 2 man to never have a consistent number one.

Wilkins is better with ease.
