Hey guys, Some of you may remember that for the last two years I have conducted a poll at the end of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. Its is now that time to vote! I would like to start this up once more considering the NBA season is now over and we can get to this discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round. I have also included the results of those last 2 years so everyone can see how much things have changed...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best.

SG Rankings DONT FORGET TO VOTE!!

Manu had a good 'half season' last year and everyone is on his dick....Joe's still the number 1 option on a playoff team while Manu is 2/3 on his. At least Joe isn't on a crap team that is 25-57 every year. I think Joe should definitely be ahead of Manu but I do think Johnson is overrated though.

I voted for Jackson because people overlook what he's done for the team, giving the Bobcats a huge offensive boost averaging 21,4,4 and leading a team ,who seemed to have a bad roster, to their first playoff birth in history.

Monta is clearly second in votes for fifth best, so you may be right. I personally love watching Monta play because he is so exciting, but I think his numbers were inflated because of the team he was playing on. I will certainly think twice before I click his name for number 6... if I pick his name.

Stephen Jackson here. If Manu had a better track record with injuries i'd put him at 5. And Ellis is a low efficiency volume scorer, and does nothing else well. So I have Jackson with a slight edge over Manu, then Ellis as the number 7. Ray Allen isn't even top ten anymore, he's way too inconsistent.

Wrong, o so very very wrong.

Manu
ts% of 58.4%
eFG% of 51.4%
reb% of 7.7%
ast% of 28.2%
stl% of 2.5%
blk% of 0.8%

Last season Ginobili was better in every category except for steal% and usage%. And, since Ellis' usg% was higher, it's even worse because he was utilized more and still put up much much worse numbers.

me too i personally think manu is washed up and is going to have a significant drop in production. i think mayo is going to have breakout year as well and take on the scoring responsibility for the grizz. i say next year he is goin to be the #3 or #4 shooting guard because he's going to leap frog JJ and manu. im really high on the grizz though i like their whole roster.

Thats ridiculous, what has Mayo done other than be a scorer on a bad team and play no defense? Maybe I'm biased because I'm Argentinian, but I think Manu is worlds apart from Mayo and he's better than JJ. He plays defense, does all of the dirty work, is a great scorer, and actually performs in the playoffs. To think JJ is better than Manu, let alone OJ Mayo, is pretty uneducated I think.

You aren't biased...you're merely just 100% correct. Manu is the 4th best shooting guard in the league, and there's no debate at all. Johnson, Ellis, Mayo, Martin, Allen.....none of those guys are even close to Manu. Manu's career numbers are ****ing ridiculous. He's definitely a HOF.

no im not saying he's not good he is a great blue collar worker. plays great offense and defense but at the the end of the day he is a blue collar worker. thats like saying varejao is a better big man than al jefferson because he does all the dirty work. how is it uneduacated mayo is going to have a breakout year averging over 20 especially because al jefferson was traded and hes going to need to make up for some of the scoring and mayo plays defense what are you talking about?

i like monta offensively all day but i dont like his defense. he is on a worse team so his stats should be worse stats dont matter when your talking about players unless they are on the same team imo. you have different coaching, different schedules, different teammates and all of that reflects the stats. but if you were starting a team and had to pick between mayo, ginobili, ellis the choice would have to be mayo and this is his thrid season which is when players usually take their game to the next level. and i dont think ellis is going to be there much longer with the acquisition of curry in the draft who is a slasher as well making him expandable. and imo if your expandable your not top 5.

ummm do u watch monta play???

i never said monta was a great deensive player....hes a liability on defense

but as an offensive player monta is a BEAST i dont need stats to know that

dude can get to the rim with his moves n quickness as good as any1 - like manu could in his prime

member manu couldnt hit the 3 when he first got into the league himself remember when he first got in he was "a consistent jump shot away from superstardom (and part of superstardom is winnin)" monta has a real nice midrange game just not consistent at the 3 but is a FORCE on offense

Thats how it should be. Ray Allen is getting no love at all. I'm including the playoffs when I voted. Based on the season alone he wouldn't be #5 but the playoffs are just a little more important to me and definitely should be factored into the voting. Even in the season he had higher shooting numbers than Manu and Monta (except Allen was behind 1% in 3's behind Manu) and he turned it up a notch during the playoffs but it seems a lot of people are just looking at each players' PPG, RPG and APG. Allen should be at worst #6 but it doesn't look like he'll get that spot either. Did anyone WATCH him in the finals?
