I think if you win 50% or more of a "Decade"s worth of NBA titles you become a dynasty???

Some of the greatest ones:
Obviously that Green team from the east that had 11 titles in 13yrs and a sickening 8 consecutive titles with Bill Russell
Lakers 5 championships from 1980-90
Lakers 5 championships from 2000-2010
Bullls 6 championships from 1990-1998

Dynasty challenger: Spurs 4 championships from 1999-2007

There are probably a lot more challengers to the

Weigh in!!

It's pretty easy to me....

You need a top 3-5 player in the NBA with another top 15 player

If you have a solid rest of your team with perfect role players and chemistry, (and obviously not having your best players injured), then you will not lose

That's why I laugh when people say they Heat have no shot or won't win more than 55-60

LBJ-1 or 2 in the NBA
Wade- 3-5 in the NBA
Bosh-10-15 in the NBA
Haslem- ultimate role player
Miller- great role player (3 point specialist)

Add the other perfect role players like Chalmers, Z, Joel.....(all won't take many shots)

If they have chemistry, they have put together a team we have NEVER seen in the NBA. JVG will be correct when he said, NO ONE will come close to beating them minus the Lakers...

I can't wait for the season

And to clarify your post....the teams you mentioned have been really great teams...

There has only been ONE dynasty in the NBA

They would be the Celtics winning 11 titles in 13 years....

When a team can put together a string of 5 to 7 years in any decade...where they're consecutively winning rings and consistantly contending for a Title...
It makes them unforgettable...
The current Lakers Post-Shaq are on the verge...
3 straight Finals...
Back to Back Championships...
A threepeat puts them at the threshold...and then they would just need to keep contending for a few more seasons...IMO, you're witnessing just that...

dude, HAVING GOOD PLAYERS OR GOOD CHEMISTRY DOESNT MAKE A DYNASTY WINNING, 3 CHAMPIONSHIPS WITHIN 4-5 years qualifies you as a dynasy... what were you thinking with your response? LOL

How about having a great coach plus winnig 3 or more championships in a decade. Auerbach with the Celtics, Phil with the Bulls, Riley with the Lakers and Phil with the Lakers. Popovich with the Spurs I guess can also be added.

3 or more championships in my opinion.

The last Dynasty the league had was the Lakers during their 3-peat.

Many don't consider the Spurs a dynasty because they never won back to back titles if I remember correctly.

This Laker team needs 1 more championship to become a dynasty. 3 straight Finals appearance and if they win 1 more + continue to at least make the finals, I would put them as a dynasty.

current team is part of the 2000 diansty. with the three shaq era rigns an d kobes eras 2.

If we were to split them in two different dinastys then the 80s one would be TWO too.

At least learn the definition of the word before you post and make yourself look stupid. To be considered a dynasty, you need to win consistantly and sustain an extended period of excellence. The Celtics, Lakers and Bulls are all examples of NBA dynasties.

The Miami Heat are not even in the discussion, and anyone who believes they are is either a homer or as I said above, does not know the meaning of the word. It's pretty simple.

Shaq's Lakers was definitely a dynasty.

Kobe's Lakers right now, aren't. They still need a championship in a row + being an elite team for a couple years to be considered.
