Got in a debate with someone. He thought Arenas wasn't really a ball-dominating PG, and I said he was the most ball dominating PG in the NBA.

For the sake of the argument, let's pretend Arenas is still playing PG.

What do you guys think?

Arenas isn't even a point guard any longer.

NO.. He and all the other stars he played with all managed to get their numbers alongside him. Even bum Larry Hughes looked good next to him. He put it up tho more than the average pg obviously. But he's the franchise player who's not a pure pg anyway.

Yes, he is. Other than him i really cant think of any other Ball dominating PGs.

making plays belongs in that dominating the ball category aswell....
so pgs like jameer nelson who play off the ball a lot are not but even guys like nash and paul are ball dominating

I dont watch the Bucks, but after his 55pt outburst, would anyone consider Jennings on that list?

That's because he was in rhythm and he was playing the worst defensive team in the league. He's shoot-first but he doesn't dominate the ball as much as some other PGs.

Arenas dominates the ball a lot but that's kind of the role of the PG. Point guards are (usually) the playmakers and to make plays you need the ball to iniate a play or create something for yourself.

I would actually say, based on what ball-dominant means, Chris Paul or Steve Nash would be the most ball dominant PGs in the NBA because on they have the ball in their hands so much.

But if this thread is asking who the shoot-most, shoot-first point guard is then yeah that would have to be Arenas or Monta Ellis.

I love these off season thread it makes me miss the real season even more.

I think it has to be Arenas or Ellis.

Allen Iverson?

We all know he is a SG that has to dominate the ball in order to carry the team. So they called him a PG.
