To join Amare and / probably CP3 @ New York and probably forming another super team that will again ruin small NBA team franchise

Remember Melo already showed his desire to play @ New York

Your thoughts?

Knicks fans would certainly be mad if this opportunity is lost, but what says the other fans?

unfortunately, NY is a huge market and endorsements would come in bunches, so even if he gets a paycut he can make up for most of it in endorsements

What can they do? No.

Why would they? And can they even?

If that were to happen it would wreak of favoritism to LePippen in Miami.

What can they do? He can opt out and sign with who he chooses. I think he leaves... and it sucks, cause he just fits so well with the Nuggets.

Lebron changed how the game will be from now and on... guys are going to do this every year now, Melo will try to join and create a superteam just like CP3 will later on. That's what is going to suck about the NBA from now on... talent will be spread much more thinly around the league.

That has to be one of the poorest written titles I have ever read.

Anything can happen.

If the Nuggets can pull a blockbuster trade by deadline to make them a legit contender, Melo may reconsider. ..again, IF. But as for the title of the thread.. No.

No, as mentioned before when you play in NY money isn't much of an issue with the endorsements deals that come with it.

His option-out clause is already written into this CBA, so it makes no difference what is written into the new one. It doesn't affect his opt-out clause. He can opt-out right up until the current CBA expires and beyond since there is about a zero chance of the new one being signed by all parties the day the current one expires.

Yes they should make carmelo their own product and not let him do what *gasp* he wants

Nope, new CBA won't govern his decision, if it restricts opt out clauses then he'll just opt out under the current one, just before the new CBA takes effect. And hearing that the GM's want to restrict player movement in the next CBA makes me sick. These people have a right to live and play where they choose. It'd be totally unfair to force players to have to stay with whatever franchise they were drafted by.

Why do we have to save these small market teams? The Knicks have sucked for far too long, that is the bigger crime.

What can they do? No.

Thats my though. What can they really do? Melo is a Free Agent and has the right to sign with any team in the league.
