Blue Jays may win the first and last game ... however I think Litsch will get bombed in the first inning of his game resulting in Cito strangling the life out of him out on the mound and we will then be looking for:

A manager and a fifth starter.

Its not a coincidence that Cito is benching a rookie. He had done it throughout his career. He benched Carlos Delgado and Shawn Green as rookies. (even though the both made their debuts in 1993, and both played with Toronto for a short period of time).

I just hate the way that Cito handles rookies... Even when the club is in a semi-rebuild mode. And to think that we are going to implement Cito Gaston as a director of player development or some similar role scares me to be honest

No Arenciba? No Snider? We're going to get swept anyways, guess there's no reason to watch this series now.

BlueJayCarter
08-06-2010, 04:59 PM
They're not in the line-up for one game .. geez... There is a 75% chance that JPA will start the next game tomorrow and it would be foolish for Cito to keep Snider out of the lineup on the week-end.

We will probably, 75% chance, see them both on Saturday and Sunday.

If we see Molina two out of three games for JPA then I would be pissed. Not before ... I am sure most of us knew Molina would be appearing in one game, hopefully.

I can understand not starting Arencibia. He just got here yesterday. Give him a day or 2 settle in a bit, take in the game tonight and have him prepare to start a game on the weekend. As for not starting Snider, I don't get that. If this guy is going to be a integral part of this team going forward, especially offensively, he's has to play, period. I know all about having 5 guys for 4 spots or whatever it is, but IMO Snider needs to be in the line-up ahead all of them.

Why no JPA today? Molina catches Morrow (Sun) & Sat is day game after night game. Plus JPA can catch Mills Sat. Theyve been at AAA all year.

Makes sense. i guess JPA could have caught today but Molina would have needed start two straight. JPA was only going to be catching 1 game this series with Fri-Sat being a day-night game and Morrow on sunday. Dont kill Cito yet guys.

Morrow's last start, cito has having a talk with him(in the dug out), morrow didn't even look him in the eye. The body language looked to me that morrow hated cito. As soon had the talked ended, marcum went to morrow for a supportive talk...romero followed marcum. interesting.

I don't get the Cito hate sometimes. Clearly Snider is tired from playing one game since August 4th and needs a rest. Wise is a big part of this teams future and needs to get at bats, especially in the leadoff spot.

Also Morrow is very successful with Molina because he frames the pitches so well. This is important because Morrow has difficulty getting guys to swing at pitches out of the zone in order to strike them out. Cito obviously feels that after watching one game Arencibia isn't as good at that as Molina, and therefore Molina gets the shot. Even though Cito said they need to break up the Morrow/Molina love fest, apparently today is not that day.

There's a perfectly rational explanation for why the most important players on the future of this team aren't playing every day. There has to be. I mean, Cito's the manager in the big leagues so he obviously must know more than us. Right? Right? Bueller?

Morrow is absolutely dominant some days (see, today) - he can be a true Ace if he puts everything together and gets his control worked out (which it looks like he's already done).
