My heart told me that once they lost to the Celtics it was over no matter what they did in the offseason or how much the city tried to show their love for him.

What you think?

I figured he'd be leaving when they failed to get Amare, and when it continued to look more and more like no legit #2 would ever go to Cleveland. The loss solidified it...and I don't blame him even 1% for leaving.

When they lost in round 2 as heavy favorites. Basically they took a step back. They went from the Finals to 2nd round to ECF to 2nd round again.

I've always wanted him to stay in Cleveland but I had a bad feeling when they lost the series to Boston, there was a good chance he wouldn't return.

I don't blame him either...BUT

Didn't management pick Jamison over Amare because they thought he would be the better fit? I remember hearing they had the choice. They just picked the wrong guy. lol

I think it was a given when they lost to the C's.

Even when they were down in that series it almost look liked he'd given up on the team.

I've had a good feeling for awhile he was going to another team by the way he always describe how no matter where his job may take him he will always love cleveland etc etc. But the loss to the Celtics made me sure of it. After that I knew he was gone it was just a matter of where he was going to go

I knew he was coming to Miami as soon as Wade and Bosh signed...Anyone can see the sarcasm in Bosh's comments when asked what would he like to say to Lebron, the two thumbs up and the smirk along with the good luck Lebron gave it away.

Amare was vocal about not wanting to play in Cleveland. Phoenix said they weren't able to commit to a trade, and Cleveland didn't feel like waiting around and pulled the trigger on the Jamison deal immediately. Amare was also an expiring, and, again, he made it clear that he would make no commitment with Cleveland until the off-season...or at least until LeBron committed. But Amare was definitely plan A.

When he was drafted. It tough for small markets to retain elite talent in the NBA. It's funny, Mario Lemieux was drafted by Pittsburgh in the NHL and has stuck it out with that franchise because that's the kind of loyalty there is in that league. He is one of the greatest to ever play the game and Pittsburgh is hardly hockey heaven. In the NBA every elite player seems to want to move to the high profile market. It's too bad because it severely limits the reach of NBA basketball when it could easily be a more popular sport, just like soccer/football. All you need is a ball and two hoops.

I remember this and knew at that point it was gonna be all bad! Not putting Jamison down but he isn't the player he once was. Former allstar and is in his mid 30s. Lebron's request was Amare, a allstar in his 20s instead he was given Jamison a 2 yr removed allstar who is on the bad end of 30.....not a good move at all

When management started grasping at straws and trading for the likes of Shaq, Antwan Jamison, and Mo Williams. They had no idea what kind of team identity they wanted, they were simply trying to keep Lebron happy. But nothing would have made him happier than a ring.

The last 2 games of the playoffs. Cavs owner was right...he gave up. It even LOOKED like he was shaving points at one point. He was dribbling off of his own knee... bricking layups.. it was comical.

And after the series when he took off his jersey before getting out of the arena... IT WAS A WRAP!

November 2008 at Madison Square Garden when he said "July 1, 2010, is going to be a big day."

No way!

If the Cavs management was not so terrible and they brought some talent around him other than a bunch of 3rd and 4th option players, he definitely would not have left. I can PROMISE you that he would have preffered to stay there and win 7 of more championships (then you could not argue that MJ was better)

Management screwed Cleveland bad

I was certain that he would not spend his career with the Cavs.

I was certain that he would join the Knicks for the last 1.5 year.

I was shocked when I heard the Delonte West & Lebron's mum stories.

Turns out it was a catalyst for him to not join the Knicks after all.

The Celtics series showed exactly why he left. I think he tried to show the world that he was playing by himself after all...

When they lost to Boston in the playoffs and you saw the look on his face as he ripped his jersey off. I knew then he wasnt going to come back. Barring a miracle cleveland never really had a chance after that. Although I will say im surprised he left the way he did. Never thought he would be such a diva.

This. But I certainly blame him for the way he left. Completely classless, and disrespectful to his city. It makes him seem almost out of touch with reality.

I had told people all season that if the Cavs didn't win a championship that I thought Lebron would leave. I really think that was their only hope of keeping him. So him leaving Cleveland really didn't surprise me. I'm a Heat fan, but I really never thought there was any chance that he would come to the Miami. So him leaving didn't surprise me, where he chose to go did.

For me, it was when he said that he was going to bring his game to South Beach. But in all fairness, my realization could have been clouded by all the douchebaggery that was "the decision," so take that with a grain of salt. I could have realized much sooner. Shame on you Maverick Carter.

I don't really think the number change had anything to do with coming to Miami. He would not have had to announce the change and go through the process with the league of changing his number unless he was considering staying in Cleveland. When someone gets traded or signs with another team they can choose any number they want and don't have to do anything in advance.

2. What Heat teammate will sleep with Lebron's mom first?
3. Lebron, the man, the myth, the choker
4. Lebron is going to win 20 titles in a row now
5. I haven't heard anything about Lebron lately

I guess I misread the question....when did I know he was going to the Heat, opposed to, when he was leaving Cleveland. I think I knew he was leaving Cleveland when he started trying to recruit Bosh to the Cavs. When Bosh chose the Heat, then Lebron knew, that was the easiest place to win a championship.

I never thought he was leaving, I mena, the hole idea of amare, he had the choice of amare or Jaminson, and he took Jaminson, at least, thats the report I heard.
