all info from bluejays.com

Monday August 2, 7:05, SNET

Brandon Morrow (7-6, 4.62 ERA) (http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=453344) vs AJ Burnett (9-8, 4.52 ERA) (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=150359)

Scouting report:

Blue Jays: On Monday at home against the Orioles, Morrow picked up a win after yielding two runs on five hits over six innings. The right-hander struck out six and walked four in the 99-pitch effort, which came with nine days of rest between outings.

Yankees: Burnett has strung a pair of good starts together after a self-inflicted injury on July 17. He held the Royals and Indians scoreless in his past two efforts. He also blanked Toronto for 6 2/3 frames on July 2.

Tuesday August 3, 7:05, SNET

Ricky Romero (8-7, 3.46 ERA) (http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=460069) vs Dustin Moseley (1-0, 3.24 ERA) (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=400291)

Scouting report:

Blue Jays: Romero was sharp against the Orioles at home on Tuesday night, picking up his second win in his past three starts. The left-hander held Baltimore to two runs on nine hits over 7 2/3 innings and finished with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Yankees: Moseley earned another turn in the rotation after a good spot start on July 29 at Cleveland, limiting the Indians to a run on four hits in six innings. Moseley walked two and struck out four in his first start since April 17, 2009.

Wednesday August 4, 1:05, SNET

Shaun Marcum (10-4, 3.24 ERA) (http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=451788) vs Phil Hughes (12-4, 4.07 ERA)

Scouting report:

Blue Jays: Marcum pitched through flu-like symptoms on Friday and still fashioned a gem at home against the Indians. The righty allowed just one run on three hits and finished with no walks and a season-high 10 strikeouts en route to a win.

Yankees: Hughes was arguably as good as he's been all year vs. the Rays on Friday, yielding four hits and two walks while fanning six in six innings. But a three-run homer gave him his second road loss of the year and dropped him to 12 after a 10-1 start.

I like the numbers for the Blue Jays starters going into the series. However, who knows how the Yankees pitchers are going to perform and how our offense can get through the Yankee pitchers. I would like to see us win two out of three but I think the Yankees might take two out of three.

Tough ballpark for a flyball pitcher like Morrow. I think we'll see Marcum do pretty well. Romero could go either way against the Yanks IMO. I'll stay positive and say we take 2/3

Good confidence boost for both Hill and Snider today. Snider with two doubles so far and an RBI, and Hill on a 3-2 count with a double and fourtieth RBI of season.

I do not agree that this line-up is a beast without Lind. Lind has been producing okay, needs to get his average to the .250s to .260s to declare it an okay season. Better production then Overbay and if Lind is now our first baseman of the future should be in the line-up pretty much everyday.

I firmly believe in the 'learning to win' concept, especially with young pitchers. I'd much rather see us with the 18th pick because we finished above .500 than with the 12th pick and 72-75 wins. With our willingness to go overslot in the draft, it's not that big of a deal. Besides, the picks from 11-20 is usually no man's land anyway. No more elite prospects other than the tough signs, which you can usually get in the sandwich rounds.

Morrow didnt tonight. I imagine that baseball with all the SPECIAL NUMBERS and SPECIAL HOLOGRAMS on it must be harder to hit than a regular ball, and thats why A-Rod cant hit it.

unless your likely to finish 25-30th you should try to win every game. exception is for 25th-30th place teams when a cant miss player like strasburg or Harper are involved.

i agree with that part 100% the learning to win and what not because of our team being young, but lets face it were rebuilding and ya your right its a crapshoot but i wouldnt want to have a pick like in the 20's which were close to because we can have a shot at the 10th or 11th pick which would be really nice to have especially if next years draft is stacked like people say the first couple spots after the top 10 is perfect to have because if a player drops out of top 10 like mcguire did hell be there for the picking at 20 theres less steals that you can pick up unless theres an injury risk or something involved like renaudo...
I dont WANT us to lose i just dont want us to drop really low in standings unless were making a big push for playoffs then hey be my guest i have no problem but that seems impossible at this point..

I think Lewis will be in the field when Snider takes over right field and Bautista takes over 3rd.

I don't mind Lewis at DH, it doesn't hurt the team, it allows Snider to get better in the field and it keeps Lewis playing and Snider playing.

This lineup has alot of potential. all we need some players to create some balance between SLG & OBP and we could be really good. Ofcourse Im visioning snider to be a force in the middle of the lineup (maybe premature but with cito gone its possible), and somewhat of a bounce back season from Lind & Hill.

BlueJayCarter

The Blue Jays offense has shown itself excellently with the long ball. VWells with two Hrs and three RBIs after a poor month of July long ball wise.

Pitching has been good, complete game by Romero is awesome confidence boost. Maybe if we go 21-4 to 19-6 we might get back into contention, but even if not, knocking the Yankees or Red Soxs out of playoff contention would be awesome.

It's scary to imagine how crazy this line-up could have been this season, if Lind and Hill hit like they did last year, or even anywhere close to that. You never want to pinpoint one or two guys in relation to how a team performs, but you'd have to think if Lind and Hill had their strokes going all year, we would have been on the the winning side of those 1 run loses.

Hill looks like he's coming around faster then Lind. Lind just looks lost up there.

Interesting, as in ludicrous?

Cito said when Snider came back up, that in the games where he would be replacing Fred Lewis, he would be taking the same spot in the line-up as Lewis. Because those guys are so interchangeable.

Don't worry, he will be back to his usual bottom-of-the-lineup spot next game I'm sure.

Hughes looks pretty good today :sigh:

He does, but he's throwing all fastballs. Why the hell can't we hit them? Frustrating to watch everyone swing right through them. Hughes has good velocity, but over powering, and he doesn't have a lot of movement so you'd think a team like the Jays would be feasting on all the fastballs.

On the topic, why can't Snider hit fastballs? When young players come up, the fastball is really the one pitch they can handle, yet with Travis it seems the complete opposite. If he's to be the hitting we all think he can, he's gotta figure that out.
