Explain what I mean:

Players with amazing skill that didn't cut it in the NBA or do not get the credit they deserve.
Players who had 1-2 amazing seasons, and never played great again.
Players who were amazing in college but useless in the NBA
Players who could, at full potential, be stars or semi-stars in the league.
I'm pretty sure you get the point.

Best example I can think of is Sarunas Jasikevicius. The first guy who tried to "kill" the Dream Team in the 2000 Olympics, managed to in 2004 and he had some magic moments during his NBA career with the Pacers and the Warriors as well.

Lamar Odom could've been close to the second coming of Magic if he had the heart and desire some other players possess.

Obviously he's carved himself out a nice career but he could've been one of the best of his generation with his skillset, physique and the right mentality.

Ricky Davis had the skills and talent.

Never had the brain or ability to be coached, and never even attempted to learn how to play winning basketball.

I thought this thread was about the best flopper, I was going to say Manu without even reading the OP, good thing I didn't :D.

After such a great rookie campaign, Damon Stoudamaire but didn't put up those great numbers when he left Toronto.

player that comes to my mind is Bobby Simmons. He had that one good year with the Clippers, won the most improved player of the year that year, got his huge contract. Then, I never heard much of him since. I know he's been hurt a lot though.

Jason Richardson. I mean he is a good player but when you look at his game this guy could always score the ball. Still I always felt like he should've been an All-Star player. At 6-6 he is a unbelievable athlete, he can shoot, pass, post-up, dunk, can get his own shot. Maybe playing in the Western Conference and playing for the Golden State Warriors didnt help his cause either but I always thought he had the tools to be a great player in this league.

Arvydas Sabonis. Got to NBA only in 31 years, far behind his prime. One of the greatest centers of all time.
He could score, rebound, great passer as center, high basketball IQ, great defender, he could shoot 3s, had great FT%. Phenomen.

Emeka Okafor.. won NCCA championship and rookie of the year.. ppl thought he would be a beast.. just been average so far.. a real disappointment, he was suppose to be the face of the bobcats and ended up being traded before they made the franchise first playoff appearance...

Another... JR Smith.. dude has the talent, kind of an all around player.. he cand drive but chooses to jack 3s.. and he as good handle and can make plays but chooses to jack 3s, could've been a good 2nd option mayb 20-22 ppg but chooses to jack 3s..
