So The point of this thread is to try to make a Starting 5 championship team that can Contend for a title Without any player who ever made the Allstar team or even got Allstar/Superstar consideration.

My list

PG Andre Miller
SG OJ Mayo
SF Thaddeus Young
PF Carl Landry
C Roy Hibbert

This is my Starting 5. As you can see none of these guys Have ever made the Allstar team or even been considered AllStars. Would like to see How other fans build a team Without Having Kobe or Lebron James in the mix.

agreed, except for the ones who have people who will either be an all star or someone who has already been one

How bout Detroit a few yrs back they didnt have any real stars..im sure they had all stars but that was due to there record..Rip Prince Sheed Ben Wallace..It can be done
first off billups x3, sheed x4(2 before he was a piston), wallace x4, and rip x3 were all stars so that makes them all disqualified for your question and then prince was on the redeem team so he is off as well. Don't forget mcdyess was also a former allstar on that team as well, but he doesn't really count because that was pre injury. that team did not have any superstars on it but they did have alot of talent and that is why they won.

basically like daleja says you cannot win without some sort of all-star on your team. like I just pointed out the one team that everyone points to as a "true team" had 4 players with 14 all star apperances combined. As I look at these lineups most of them have guys like bogut(if plays like he did last year he will get in) evens and curry(within five years they are on the all star team) and the rest of the teams without them does not have a prayer to beat LA, miami, orlando, or boston in a 7 game series.

Look at the original post.

So The point of this thread is to try to make a Starting 5 championship team that can Contend for a title Without any player who ever made the Allstar team or even got Allstar/Superstar consideration.

Which means that even borderline or former all-stars are not allowed. And like some have said, you can't form a championship team like that. It's impossible.

Westbrook, stays in the lane...... nice penetrating point guard.
Stepen Curry, 3 point threat ..... double team my big's, he'll make you pay.
Mike miller, 3 point threat ....... same as above.
Andrew Bogut, nice 7'foot big man....... mid range shot, and can hit free throws when needed.
Andrew Bynum, nice 7'foot big man...... plays def, and rebounds.

I think my team has nice balance; I can penetrate with both guard positions. I have 2 outstanding spot up shooters, and two 7'footers that are going to be a problem all season long.

Don't think it's possible to make a championship team without a all-star but this is the best i can think of off the top of my head.

the chicago bulls.

since apparently derrick rose is overrated, sucks, and doesn't deserve to have been an all star according to half the posters here we can just go with that and pick that team together.

Josh Smith
Hedo Turkoglu
Andre Iguodala
Mike Bibby

Bench

Emeka Okafor
Lamar Odom
Tayshaun Prince
Stephen Jackson
Monta Ellis

Shane Battier - For Kobe/Lebron
Kendrick Perkins - For Dwight/Yao

Great Defensive team that will be deadly in the open court. Hedo, Bibby, Monta and Capt Jack will provide the scoring. This team can contend in either conferences.

Okay can I get a list of players that would be disqualified from this considering I don't know who would count for being in all star/superstar contention and who wouldn't? I could easily make a top 5 team in the league using players that have never been all stars but have no idea who counts as being in all star contention. I need clarification.

Basically anyone who made the Allstar team in their career. or even been Consider Allstars. Basically i want you to build a team with guys who have talent to be serious championship Contenders. Just take a group of Underrated players that you think can win a championship if they were to all play on the same team.

So would a guy like Monta be legit? Or how about Tyreke? Technically Josh Smith has never been an all star... would he be usable? How about Iggy?

haha

read the title of the thread........its a pointless thread.....theres not one championship team or one that could even come close......title should be playoff team, or 8th seed cause thats what people have posted.....

p.s.

rippin on people who point who are just pointing out that this thread is ridiculous does not make you look more knowledgeable, but i assume u know that

kjdills13
08-02-2010, 12:53 PM
Andre Miller
OJ Mayo
Shane Battier
Emeka Okefor (SP)
Blatche ( i dont consider him a star anymore)

Jarod Bayless - 6th
Gally (knicks) - 7th
Channing Frye- 8th
Jarod Dudley- 9th
Jason Thompson- 10th

This team is big with okefor ( a true PF) and blatche, they also have good defense. then OJ mayo will step up as the big scorer for the starting unit kicking it to battier on the wing. the bench comes in and you can spred the floor with frye. go small ball with bayless. put gally in to spread the floor even more. Put dudley in for some defense and 3pt shooting. Have a big 6'11 guy thompson to be a big body and grab boards and put some points up .

But remember the NBA is a star driven league without a star you are not winning a championship, so yes i think this is the best team you can make out of non stars. I DO NOT believe they could win a championship

Yea... cause there's so much going on to talk about right now in the NBA. So don't make any threads that make people use their imagination and have fun.

Then Don't watch.
