View Full Version : 2011 Lockout, Are you done with the NBA if it happens?

Can I get a poll please!?

Off to the D-League I would go. Directv already offered me an NBA D-League package for only $39.99. That's a pretty sweet deal considering all the talent in the world is showcased in the D-League.

I wouldn't be done with the NBA. It would suck, but i'll get right back into it as soon as it picks back up.

If there is a lockout...I doubt it goes the whole season...even if it does...I'll be giddy to jump back into things after it's done...I love the NBA too much...

At least the NFL would be on for half the NBA season;.

08-01-2010, 03:05 AM
Maybe, dont know.

08-01-2010, 03:18 AM
considering that this upcoming is so anticipated and has so much potential excitement..with the lakers-heat and the whole nine yards if they were to go on strike during a time when basketball is about to make a huge leap that would be flat out depressing..i really don't know how i'll react to the nba if it happens besides bein pissed off

08-01-2010, 03:43 AM
No. I'll probably continue living my life, watch some "Real Housewives" more often, and "Project Runway" or some other crap until the NBA resumes. I simply enjoy watching the games too much, but the lockout won't be an epic tragedy for me, either.

I dont think there will be a lockout. The NBA is approaching another Golden age. We got the big market teams competing now (Chi/NYC aint do nothing last decade) and Miami Heat Trio is a GOLD MINE. As well as renewed rivalries.

And the Spurs are dying  the ratings killers.

Can I get a poll please!?

nah,,i'd just watch the the re-run games on nba tv or old school joints on espn2...

08-01-2010, 04:06 AM
but i hope there ain't a lockout

08-01-2010, 04:09 AM
Why would you be done with the NBA if there's a lockout? I would be done with the NBA as long as the lockout lasts. And if it happens, I can't see it extending past December or January.

08-01-2010, 04:14 AM
To be honest, I am already kinda done with the NBA. I like the NBA when players stayed loyal to their teams. When stars didnt just try to buddy up with other stars and take the easy way to a NBA Championship. I think for the next 10 years or so I'll just watch the WNBA.

08-01-2010, 04:17 AM
I'd start watching the WNBA.

lol jk :D

08-01-2010, 04:39 AM
It won't be terrible. There still will be a season, maybe similar to 1999.

08-01-2010, 04:52 AM
NHL > NFL> MLB > Adult League Softball > European Soccer > MLS > Beach Volleyball > Womens Pro Soccer > NBA

in that order IMO

08-01-2010, 05:08 AM
ehh... i'll just wait till the season starts again. At least Evans and Cousins have more time to work on their game!! :)

08-01-2010, 10:21 AM
I love this game too much, I wouldn't be able to stop watching.

08-01-2010, 11:14 AM
i for one love the game too much.. but for casual fans, 2 lockouts in 12 years might be too much for them. I am a casual fan of baseball...since the steroid thing, i have not watched a game all year..combined with the fact that the D-Backs are a joke. Usually I wait to start watching come playoff time and im not even sure i'll do that this year, unless the Yanks are in the Series.

We saw what a lock-out shortened season did back in 99'.. Would that be good for the league again? We saw the accusations from PJ that the Spurs title was tainted.. and I agree with him..

08-01-2010, 11:21 AM
1. a dont think there will be a lockout... it just isnt in the interest of both sides to do that. I think an uncapped year with a cba is more realistic then a lockout

2. if there was, I dont care. Ill still be watching when it comes back

08-01-2010, 11:34 AM
I've been done with the NBA since 2000 and I gotta tell you I don't miss it one bit!

08-01-2010, 11:37 AM
...and yet you are in the nba forum... :eyebrow:

08-01-2010, 11:48 AM

I agree. I can't wait to watch this season. Kobe's race to immortality plus the dynamics of 3 of the top 20 players in the league (let alone 2 of the top 3) learning to play together is going to make for a lot of must watch games.

...and yet you are in the nba forum... :eyebrow:

Yeah I never understand when you see people in a forum saying how they don't like that team/sport. Why are you even trolling around in there then? It'd be like me trying to go to the hockey forum.

08-01-2010, 11:55 AM
I'm never going to be done with the NBA, I just love basketball too much. If there was a lock-out though it would suck big time. I can't imagine no NBA for a whole season.

08-01-2010, 11:57 AM
I don't want to talk about it:(

08-01-2010, 12:17 PM
There are finer things in life then watching impassioned, overpayed egomaniacs hawk up 3 pointers for 48 minutes. I won't be devastated, and I may not come back either. I'm already losing interest in baseball.

08-01-2010, 12:17 PM
No,Lakers for life.

Is there gonna be a NBA Lockout Live or NBA 2kLockout game? :D
Might keep us all busy :)

08-01-2010, 12:48 PM
It would suck, because there really isn't anything to look forward to after the NFL season is over. Don't get me wrong, I like catching baseball games in person, but no way in hell do I watch anything short of the MLB playoffs or the World Series with any real fervor on TV. I guess I take up sailboating or something until the NBA returns.

08-01-2010, 01:08 PM
give up basket ball ? give up the nba ? why would i do that to myself. thats crazy talk.
i hope theres no lock out at all, and if there is i really hope its short and we get the season going again.

08-01-2010, 03:40 PM
that would be drastic to give up because of a lockout, still gonna suck when it happens though

08-01-2010, 03:50 PM

08-01-2010, 03:50 PM
I would hate to see a lockout

08-01-2010, 03:51 PM
nba till i die or find something better!

08-01-2010, 03:58 PM
Yes i'm all but done with it now.

08-01-2010, 04:46 PM
No because I am a big fan of nba and I have LeBron, Wade, and Bosh on my team. So I can watch them for years to come. Why would I be done with nba for a season lockout?

08-01-2010, 05:18 PM
If it locked out for 5 years I would jump right back into it. Love the game too much!

08-01-2010, 05:49 PM
I don't think they'll have one and if they do like most have said it'll probably only take away maybe half a season like in 99... Actually it would probably help the the older teams like LA so they can get they're 4peat...

08-01-2010, 05:49 PM
No way this isn't the NHL here.

08-01-2010, 06:04 PM
At least the NFL would be on for half the NBA season;.:( Unfortunately the NFL could be heading for a lockout in 2011 as well. It would be a truely sad year in sports.

08-01-2010, 06:24 PM
I'd hate a lockout but it wouldn't decrease my love for the game.

I'd just mean i'd appreciate it even more and be damn excited when it came back.

08-01-2010, 07:17 PM
I really hope that it doesn't happen, especially since it could happen with the NFL too... I can't stand watching baseball with the exception of a game here and there (maybe 5 games a season) and playoffs. The NHL does nothing for me either. I would have to start following soccer more I guess and would probably have to start watching college sports....

08-01-2010, 07:27 PM
If it happens maybe the players will come back hungry again.

I hope there is a lock-out. They need to remind the players to stop playing so soft. I also hope that the NBA asks for smaller contracts in exchange for shorter season and shorter play-off series.

It's no wonder no one wants to play defense knowing they have to last these long over-extended seasons.

08-01-2010, 07:41 PM
why would you be done?

me, i'll just wait for the season to resume

08-01-2010, 07:53 PM
Yes. I have no sympathy for people making millions of dollars(owners & players) being "out of work" because their side is too greedy.

Same goes for the NFL.

08-01-2010, 07:59 PM
There needs to be a lockout unless the new CBA remedies the reason the NBA is losing revenue every year, which is the four contenders and the 26 "also-rans."
