As a Heat Fan I've noticed that not only the Miami Heat are getting all the exposure but it seems like every East Team is in the news more and more.

Teams in the West have lost All-Stars to the East
Utah - Boozer to Chicago
Phoenix - Amare to New York
etc.

I want to know what the West is shaping out to be like this upcoming season!

I've seen the East Predictions on Playoff Seeding but what are the West?

Here are mine with explanations:

1. LA - Duh right? Great team with an even better supporting cast
2. Dallas - You have to love how they are getting bigger to match with LA
3. Denver - If they keep Carmelo which I know they will
4. Portland - Oh G.Oden please stay healthy - geesh Man!
5. Phoenix - Hedo is no Amare but Nash makes everyone around him better
6. San Antonio - Tim Duncan will do everything he can to ensure a spot
7. OKC - Why is everyone so spun up on these dudes? Cover Westbrook = W
8. Utah - Sorry folks A.Jefferson is no C.Boozer / I feel for D.Williams here!

So what do you guys think?

The 6-8 seeds in the east will still probably het in with 38-42 wins. The east has improved no doubt, but they still have some catching up to do.

1. LA
2. OKC
3. Dallas
4. Utah
5. Portland
6. Denver
7. San Antonio
8. Houston

Left Houston out. Its because of the miami basically dominating the off season thus far. West still much better then the East.

The east is topheavy while the west has greater depth

I think sacramento is the sleeper team for the west but as for the hype its because its has big names west has big teams much more competitive and spread out the talent

The east will probably have maybe 3 really good teams as usual and thats about it.

The West may very well have eight 50 win playoff teams again...

you know Pac said it best "West Side is the Best Side!"

East has sucked the last couple something something years...they needed to boost up their talent.

the west did not...they have been awesome for MANY YEARS.

case in point, look at the win totals and how hard it is to get into the playoffs in the west compared to the east. not even close.

other than L.A, OKC and Denver the west is weak

fixed. this is why. only thing that can stop the lakers are injuries. could be alot like 08 when they wont the west by like 8 game lead.

The West will be stronger as long as they can stay healthy, but I still can't see anyone take out LA. Portland will be dangerous healthy, OKC will be scary good if they can land a lowpost threat, Houston will do big damage with Yao healthy, Big Al in Utah will be interesting, while Denver, Dallas and San Antonio will always be contending.

1. Lakers
2. Blazers
3. Rockets
4. Thunder
5. Spurs
6. Suns
7. Nuggets
8. Mavericks

Jazz, Grizzlies, Hornets all make a push.
Injuries will wreck these predictions

west was 3 times better then east just 2 years ago

east is getting better but overall west is still better

east does have or had the 2 best regular season team last year in magic and cavs

The West is still the better conference.

Only the Heat, Magic, Celtics and Bulls would definitely make the playoffs in the West, whereas a ton of West teams would be fighting for a top 4 finish in the East (Lakers, Mavs, Nuggets, Blazers, Thunder, Jazz, Rockets, Spurs).
