According to Orioles beatwriter Dan Connolly

.#Orioles Miguel Tejada has been scratched; believed he has been dealt to the San Diego Padres pending league approval. Still working on this. #Orioles Money must be exchanging hands for league approval. Josh Bell has been removed from AAA lineup and is heading to KC for Os game

Nice, he's only been pretty ****** this year. Probably didn't give anything up though.

Very interested to see who we got, but he was #1 on my wish trade list.

I hope the Pads didn't give up anything legitimate for him...

Wynn Pelzer dont know much looking him up in baseball america now. i like to see bell kick *** the rest on the season for the o's

Pelzer is 24 years old, and is 6-9 with a 4.20 ERA in AA this year. Looks pretty medicore at best. WHIP is very high for a minor leaguer, and walks way to many batters. Has a decent K rate at about 8 K's per 9 innings. It's a decent return, but nothing to get excited over.

He's got decent minor league numbers, but he's nothing special. Not a top 15 prospect in the Padres system.

looks like he is going to be a reliever/closer

Wiz kids

Meh he was ranked top 10 in the Padres system at the beginning of the year, good enough return for Tejada

I think that's a pretty good arm for the O's to get for Tejada.

guess it's been offical that the Padres got Tejada.

Good move, but where does he play? Do they shift Headley to left field?

CleetMcGheet

He'll play up the middle of the infield until Eck comes off the DL, and then there's talk of throwing him somewhere in the outfield after that

He'll do some platooning with Headley at 3rd and Cabrera at SS and will be used for some pinch hitting. He's definitely not going to be playing in the OF.

Great move for the Orioles.

Where/when did you get that info? Pelzer has slipped quite a bit this year. Best case scenario: he'll be a decent 5th starter. Most likely scenario: he'll be a decent middle reliever.

I really dont understand this trade,... i mean the padres are doing fine, and then they trade for a steroid has been, who only has 7 hr this year

I like this deal for both teams, O's get another building piece and Padres are trying to win now.

I like it for the o's I didn't think they would get any sort of decent spec in return considering age and money on a rental player.

Our shortstop (Everth Cabrera) is hitting .201/.278/.548. The guy who is platooning with him (Jerry Hairston Jr.) is hitting .252/.308/.662.

And our third baseman (Chase Headley) is hitting .195/.265/.509 against RHP (Headley's a switch hitter).

Tejada may not be that great anymore, but he'll help our offense.

meh, Tejada is old and not privy to those vitamins anymore

the padres are in such desperation for offense even his 300 on base is better than what they have

Black is on record as saying they'll give him a look in Left Field. It's on the Padres website

Really? That sounds like a terrible idea. I'd rather have Headley play left and put Miggy at 3B.

LOL... I'm sure most Dodger fans are looking forward to see how he does there. It sounds like he's going to be spending most of his time at short.

I'm not gonna lie... I'm a little nervous about it.

Bud Black came out of left field with that one, no pun intended. He had to be joking.

CleetMcGheet

Yea I don't like the idea of it either. I think it would just be spot starts in the outfield, if anything. Kind of like how they use Salazar now
