View Full Version : Will teams clear salary-cap space for LeBron in 6 years?

He will be 31 and I am almost certain he will be leaving Miami at that time. They will have a 32 year old Bosh and a 34 year old Wade so there is no way LeBron re-ups for another 6 years with that core. I am sure they will have so much salary tied up in vets that they won't be able to add a free-agent.

So, will we see the same thing all over again in 6 years? I think it would be funny to see LBJ go back to Cleveland to "finish what I started". That might be the only way he can eventually pass Jordan.

After his contract is over he's going to play for the Cleveland Browns.

 certain like you were certain he wouldnt come to miami or play with wade.

a lot can happen in 6 years just because wade will be old bosh is 1 year older than lebron he will still be productive and im sure pat or whoever he picks to be his succesor (he has an amazing history of picking proteges) will slowly add some talent to the future HEAT.

It's not like Pat Riley is a whiz GM. He has South Beach and a HUGE tax advantage to sell to millionaire athletes. He might of had the easiest job of all over the last few years. "I am going to tank, waste no money on free-agents, and sit back while I let Wade and South Beach do all the work".

I would be far more impressed with Riley's work had he done it in a location where he couldn't just sit back and wait for free-agency.

Riley had to compete with NYC, NJ and Chicago its not like he didn't have competition.

dont think so after he fooled 3 teams to dump palyers for nothing when he knew where he was going like 2 seasons ago.

and no he didnt change 23 for 6 to "respect jordn" he simply KNEW where he was going and that he coudnt use it.

He may leave miami before then i figure 3 years without a title and he asks to be traded out. He will NEVER play for the cav's again after they way he did the organization and the fans with his ''decision'' i honestly don't believe they will ever forgive him for that. Im not saying he didn't have the right to leave but the way he did it was a slap in the face to everyone in cleveland who loved and worshipped him. He will go down as one of the most hated people in cleveland sports history.

Riley had to compete with NYC, NJ and Chicago its not like he didn't have competition.

NYC and NJ were a mess and Chicago refused to give his buddies jobs with the organization. Plus south beach and low taxes>>>>>>Chicago and high taxes.

Who is gonna wanna save cap space for a Robin, unless the team signs 2 other superstars to take most of the pressure of from him since obviously being "The Guy" is to much pressure hence bolting the cavs & not choosing Chi town or New York.

He'll go to whatever team Durant or Paul are on

LeBron's mentality may be of a Robin, but his talent is that of a Batman. He will never be Jordan but he is still going to go down as a legend. Teams would want him...that's for sure.

you have got to be kidding me....

here is how it's going to work....

The Heat will win the next 4 championships in a row....all three of them will either sign a 3 year extension then or opt out (they can opt out on 5th or 6th year) and will resign a 6 year deal....

at the end of that time, wade will be 36, bosh 34 and lbj 33

seeing the celtics just took it to game 7 and they are the same age or older, I see no reason why the three of them would not do the same. In the 8 years they have together, they realistically are looking at winning 6-8 titles. I then see LBJ staying or leaving and trying to win it by himself to win another 2-3 titles so all the haters won't be able to say anything anymore (like Kobe after shaq until these last two titles).

Honestly, I think he goes to Brooklyn in 4 years (I think he has an ETO after 4 years). He definitely will get a new contract in 4 years, I'm willing to bet that, since at 29, he'll likely get his last big payday. I think he goes to Brooklyn where he will try to win a couple titles as the leader after winning 1-3 in Miami.

He'll probably have no championships and team up with young stars... like a *****

What?
07-29-2010, 02:26 AM
He'll be 31 13 years in the league thats alot of wear and tear exspecially with his style of play. He probably will want a contract extension in a few years

He has an opt out in 4 years. That just so happens to be the year the Lakers have zero dollars against the cap once everyones contracts expire. Sadly, he will be a Laker. All the greats are. It's science.

athletic players decline a lot in their late 20's to early 30's, and they really don't get much more athletic than Lebron... go figure

I can see him leaving and trying to lead a team on his own to a couple of titles.

I wonder if the Cavs fans would want him back if he turned around after 5 titles in Miami and said "I wanna come home".

Probably not, but it's still an intriguing thought.
