Won't be easy to prove anything. This is probably just to deter any shady acts and let the league know that they're following this.

yeah right. Stern is just using that to cover up his involvement in Miami Heat's Big Three affair

stern is too late, because big 3 in the heat happened already

It's almost impossible to prove... You might get a team that misses out on him throwing empty accusations but at the end of the day it's almost impossible to prove.

Its funny the way this isnt allowed, while Wade,Bosh and Riley are allowed to tell LeBron their plans of an unstoppable team months in advance and thus damage all the rest of the teams rosters.
i.e The Bulls,Knicks.

What about LeBron James illegally contacting Chris Paul?

he didnt contact him as an agent of the heat and he didnt do so to convince him to play for the heat... nothing wrong with that.

He wasn't recruiting him to Miami

Stern won't do **** about this. People are just confusing what happened in MIA as tampering, so Stern wants to make it look like he's doing something about it.

Doesn't matter....

All three of those players were free agents and were free to negotiate with any team they chose to...

If you remember, the rumors about a big three seriously started coming through well after the finals...

If Chris Paul was a free agent, things would be completely different...

Not just that, but why would David Stern want to limit his major marketing power for the NBA to three cities...

If Bosh signs with the Nets, LeBron with the Cavs, and Wade stays with the Heat, he just opened up two more markets where the NBA can be a relevant force...

Anyone that thinks David Stern secretly collaborated the "big three" needs to read a few books about economics and marketing power...

If you remember, the Cavs were on the brink of relocation before LeBron.... Now, they will go back to mediocrity...

LMAO.....am i the only one that thinks this is funny???....all of a sudden AFTER the wade-james-bosh trio were havin secret meetings and settin up this videogame team behind closed doors, NOW the NBA remember that theres "tampering" rules....LMAO....is there any orginization left in the world that isnt crooked?

Quite the contrary. Not that he "did it", but that he didn't do anything about it. Now, it would hurt the other markets, exactly the way you eloquently put it.

A thread about Chris Paul turns into a Heat tampering debate.

This is where U MAD? comes in.

If it hurts the leagues individual markets and amount of revenue that the league draws... That, in turn, hurts David Stern's pockets...

David Stern is not about to suddenly become a fan of LeBron James and the amount of money he makes regulates that very thing....

That, in essence, is the reason that David Stern couldn't and wouldn't have been part of it...

Meetings between free agents are common and aren't against rules...

Meetings with a guy who is under a teams control for the next 3 years with the intention to get him to raise more hell in an effort to get himself traded is....

The only thing LeBron or Bosh did that was wrong was piss everyone off... Whether or not LeBron's notification to the Cavs was wrong is a matter of opinion....

Collusion didn't play a part in this and the more people think that it was is makes these debates that much funnier...
