I had the same reaction..

its pretty funny how much these guys like to pimp up our players.

they make Lewis and Escobar sound like the best 1-2 combo speed wise in the history of baseball.

Lewis is fast but his speed is way to overrated by these guys. He doesn't steal many bases so his contributions speed wise are restricted to going the extra base on occasions

again, these guys are pretty high. I would do it for one legit blue chipper and 1 or 2 mid level prospects.

if Halladay couldn't get more than 2 blue chippers, bautista shouldnt either

Before the Cliff Lee trade, Drabek, Taylor and d'Arnaud were still 3 of the 4 best prospects in a very deep Phillies system. I think when people talk about blue chippers, they mean guys with decent probability to be impact players in the majors. We definitely got 3 of those in the Doc deal.

But yea, I'd still take 1 blue chipper and 1-2 mid level guys for Bautista, just like you would.

if the jays don't deal Bautista, i think they should just give him his 1 year contract that he will get in arbitration. if he continues to perform, he becomes a type A FA most likely and will be a trade chip comes the trade deadline

Haha I just started laughing when Bautista hit that last home run...what a crazy season this guy's having. I almost posted in a thread in the MLB forum about his trade value but I didn't bother, none of those guys watch his games. Say what you want about the advanced statistics, but his outfield assists are ridiculous and he just seems to rake every game. If he doesn't hit a home run he walks twice. What a beast.

Better than Santana. Im talking team ace here.

We need a real stopper. Maybe i was spoiled by doc for a decade but none of our current starters seem to be at that level. I dont see anyone like that in our system either.

Great defense, power, walks, he runs the bases well, but even more than that, he seems to be a great team guy. watch how he's always the center of attention and sharing laughs with guys on the bench. He's always high fiving people. You need that in the club house.

I wouldn't mind him sticking around, but if AA is blown away, they have to trade him.

Klaw was on PTS tonight, and he "vehemently" disagreed with Bob McCown's assertion that the Jays should hang onto Bautista. I don't always subscribe to Keith Laws opinions, but I think he is right here. Jo-Bau is just screaming "sell high" right now.

What do you mean he waved at season ticket holders? Was he in the bullpen waved and then left the bullpen area? Left the stadium?

The feeling I am getting from these few posts is that Downs has probably been traded waiting finalization after game and having it announced tomorrow, a Blue Jays off day.

It could be something as dumb as he left the bullpen to get a workout in or something. You never know.

I kind of doubt he's been traded, as it seems these things are all over the internet seemingly before the trade is done.

EDIT: And apparently Downs is back in the 'pen.

I just think AA is gonna wait till the deadline to deal Downs.. there is so much value to be had for him to jump at an early offer

Well I searched Scott Downs on Twitter basically I kind of figured he hadn't been traded, and a couple of people were reporting he waved to season ticket holders. Am I the only one who thinks it is smart to ask for so much for Downs in the division?

Is he throwing a 12-6 Curve of Snapping?

I may have egg on my face. At MLB Trade rumors A.A has asked the New York Mets for a top prospect for Downs. Any idea what TOP prospect the Mets have?

Brad Mills' "stuff" doesn't compare to that of Ricky Romero, Brandon Morrow or Brett Cecil. However, if he could give us quality starts consistently, I'd be happy.

Before this game Travis Snider was told he would be taking a plane to Toronto after the game as he was being called back up to the major leagues.
Lewis LF
Escobar SS
Bautista 3B
Wells CF
Lind DH
Hill 2B
Overbay 1B
Molina C
Snider RF

I like this lineup for the next game!

Why do you have Travis Snider hitting behind Jose Molina?

Also, with the way Travis Snider has been hitting, I'd like to see him be moved up.

Very nice win tonight. Nice to get some runs late. I was worried they were going to make this one close. Mills looked good. Too bad he got sent down.

I think he should hit higher than 9th but your line-up has 3 LH in a row, looks unbalanced to me. Also, we all know that Cito is going with the exact line-up that Macedonian suggested, he's just not imaginative enough to change.
