View Full Version : Rumor: Wednesday Starter could be Brad Mills, or small possibility of Kyle Drabek

As stated in the BlueBird Banter it states that it looks like it will be Brad Mills as he has been scratched from his regular start and Cito said it would be someone from the roster, which led people to speculate Tallet, but Mills is also on the 40 man roster. Mills is 25, as had two MLB starts in his career. Would be good for a quick spot start.

Rumor stats that Kyle Drabek might be called up but at BlueBird Banter it states that he is nearly reached his innings limit for the season so it is a small chance.

Mills seems the most likely option. So I assume that Snider wont be up until Thursday (the off-day).

yah whatever ....kyle drabek???

yah right

Mills was scratched from last start in AAA, so its most likely him

its pointless to start tallet.

Anyone but Tallet.

Anyone but Tallet.

This, it makes sense for Mills to make the start.

calling up mills and going to a 6man rotation in august is a smart thing to do

I just saw on Sportsnet that some guy from the Globe thinks Drabek is near his innings limit for the year so won't likely be up, and if he is it will be for a bullpen role.

Jo-Jo Reyes has had a couple decent starts in the minors too. Might be an option.

Drabek should get the call. He threw 158 innings last year after having surgery, and he has only thrown 124 innings so far this season. Even with only a small increment from last year, he should be good for another 40-50 innings. That is like 7 more quality starts. He made 23 starts and 25 appearances altogether last year, so 7 more starts should not be out of the question. Why can't he make at least 2 or 3 of those (if not all 7) in the big leagues?

Stewart on the other hand only threw 105 innings last year, and he is already at 103 this year. the Jays only let him go 3 innings the other day, and he was throwing very well, so they must be starting to shut him down...

It is good to see Wallace start heating up again though. He was going through a bit of a funk over the first 2 weeks of July, but over the last 10 games he has an average of .318 with 4 bombs and 14 RBI's. He had a streak of 5 multi hit games last week too which is an excellent sign. The most impressive thing about this young first baseman though imo is the way he rakes left handed pitching...In over 100 AB's, he is hitting .391 with an .429 OBP!!!

The lack of belief in Scrabble by the organization is getting annoying. Maybe we should give his BABIP a chance to normalize from its current clip of .45****ing8...<shaking head>

I mean seriously, he's still striking guys out and not walking them, are we really starting to give up on him after an unlucky 11 IP??

lack of belief?

the guys crap! he will never be more than a bullpen pitcher like purcey.

Wow, have you ever watched him pitch? He has fantastic stuff. He is definitely rotation worthy.

Who's gonna start Sunday, hoping it's not Litsch.

Litch has taken a shutout in to the 6th inning his last 4 starts. Yeah he is not good enough to be our 5th starter.

I hope we trade Litsch.

Why do we still have Tallet? Can we kill him?:horse:

Jays option INF Mike McCoy to Triple-A and recall LHP Brad Mills for Wednesday's start!

Apparently that is frowned upon.
