View Full Version : Paul trade talk to fizzle?

Most around the league think Paul trade talk will fizzle. New Orleans has no motivation to deal and would demand max value in return.

"We've offered a lot and were willing to take back bad contracts," says West exec. "They weren't interested."

Why is it that everything positive on the Hornets side of things goes unnoticed?

I think you guys misunderstood this a Western Conference team executive said they offered alot and even to take on contracts from the Hornets but they weren't interested.

Why would New Orleans except that?
Miami would have to take back James Posey as well :D

I hope he goes to Portland. I still think they have the best package to offer. And it would be nice for Portland to finally get it going again.

The part with the exec definitely makes sense.......But you have to ask yourself when did they present this supposed trade offer to the hornets and what talent also?

If the hornets do get rid of Paul it's not the end of the world with them having another really nice PG who showed what he could do last season. If they go through with it I expect it to be some young cheap but talented SFs, Bigs and Expirings so they can recieve young talent in return so they can all grow together. Either way I don't think it'll fizzle and if they do a trade they will get some nice pieces that have lots of potential and expirings

many of you really need to brush up on your reading comprehension skillsI blame twitter's character limit. "said West exec" should read "said one Western conference executive"

Btw, my money on that "western conf exec" is Portland's GM. Have a hunch.

If that's the case, good luck to the new GM and coach having a disgruntled CP3 on there hands...Those things never work out minus Kobe of course and most times the Star becomes a cancer.

Just curious how would Hornets fans react to their star saying they wanted out... Only twice as a Magic fan have I seen this happen(Penny-Tmac). Both times the fans reacted very harshly, and the front office had to make a move quickly and guess what the offers got progressively worse once GM's around the league knew we had to make a deal.

He can't stay in New Orleans now. Once you demand a trade and say you no longer wanna play for that city you gotta go, he's in for one long season if New Orleans decides there not moving him.

Yeah, the only way he would stay is if the team was any good...They are not.
