According to a report in the New York Daily News, Marbury told The People's Daily of China that he was contacted by Miami through the NBA Player's Association. Judging by his response, the point guard either believes that he wouldn't get enough shots playing with Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh, or he feels the team already has enough playmakers.

"(The Heat) wanted a point guard. But I don't think a point guard would do much in the team as they've already had the three guys," Marbury told the Chinese newspaper.

I'm shocked to see a Knick fan mention Starbury without curse words! Funny that he's acting as if he is too good or something.. It's just his super cocky attitude that I can't stand.

I still think Marbury can be a very serviceable player in the NBA. But Im glad he said no to the heat.

Well, Marbury's already done enough damage to himself, Last thing he needs is to be apart of the Miami Heat.

Marbury is the key to NBA success. The Nets dumped him for Kidd and then went to back to back Finals. Then the Suns dumped him for Nash and became a force in the West. The Knicks were unable to trade him therefore they could not reap the benefits of the NBA's best kept secret. By signing him, Miami would all but guarantee no title this year but would also set themselves up for success for years to come.

I wouldn't want him on the Heat, so I'm glad. He's a cancer, just like AI. I'm not sure what reason he has to act like he's too good for it or something though. When was the last time he even played?

The Heat really weren't concerned about team chemistry if they reached out to Marbury. Imagine all those ego's on one court.

Is this forreal?

Miami says they don't want any chemistry issues, so they say no Shaq, no A.I, and no T-Mac..

But then they go and contact Marbury?

Glad that didn't go down, Miami already has enough egos..

Why would the Heat even consider this guy? I rather have TMAC over him...

I've always said this about Marbury, hes the best player to never push his team far. He's the most stubborn player maybe ever.

But talent wise he may of been the best PG ever.

Handle
Speed
Strength
Post up moves out *** for a point guard
Mid range
outside shot
Defense when he wanted
Able to get into the paint
Had the floater
Could take hits going to the hoop
Could kick out while drawing the double team or triple team
Durable - Was never injured
Had hops too when he was younger

Contrary to popular belief, was not a gunner.

he had the streetball game and the NBA style.

I really don't think there was ever a more complete PG than him. To bad he didn't have the leadership or social skills to go along with it. He def was my favorite player for awhile way before he got to NY.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsZvBgy8pjA
No one can convince me there was ever a more well rounded PG, talent wise.

marbury has settled down over years and played alrite with the cektucs. dont see why he couldnt be the pg or sg for the second unit
aroyo
marbury
miller
UD
big Z
with that lineup he'd probaly be the only one that could possibly create for himself. He'd be the best scorer out of those guys and could open up miller and ud for shots

I like Marbury off the court, I like how he went with making affordable shoes for fans to buy, and his offbeat style, but considering how he played in NY, and failed to really show up in Boston, and then thought himself to good to play for the vet min (which I respect, I mean if he can get paid 5 times as much for playing less then half of the games, by all means, take care of your family), but I just dont see Pat Riley calling Marbury up and offering him a roster spot. His style of play just wouldnt fit with this team, and his talent level has likely dropped off considerably since he hasnt been playing competative NBA basketball for almost two years.
