As every team stacks up on players, teams are looking the other way than signing the 38 year old. It's obviouse that his leaving LA and Miami and burning the bridges on the way out has back fired on his career...

He wants salary and minutes most teams refuse to give him.

He is nothing but a role player that helps down low and is a role player that can get you 16/8. I wish he retired after the title in Miami but he's still a player that can give a lot of help, especially against Dwight

He can still help out a contending team.

But honestly, it's a shame to see him like he is today. A shadow of how great and unstoppable he was during his prime.

I have a feeling he'll end up in Miami... maybe Orlando?

I doubt he's done... some team will sign him.

To answer your question, nah he shouldn't if he doesn't want to. It's his career, and the guy can end it whenever he chooses to.

He won't. I think he still wants to win 1 more as a starter before he retires. Also wants a huge contract.

I think he still has 1 or 2 years left in him.

Who wants to retire when you are 30 something and doing what you love?

He isn't an all star anymore, sure... But the league doesn't have a lot fo true centers. Why not do what you wanna do?

Nope.. He deserves to play one more year..

He is a cancer atm of his career. No contenders should take on him. Talk about a perfect chemistry killer who barely respects coaching staff.

Okay, how great would Shaq be on Inside the NBA with Kenny, Chuck, Cwebb and Ernie... that would be awesome.

Would you rather stay at home for 2 years or earn 9/10 mil in 2 years??

Why would you retire lol money is money. What is one team gonna do to his legacy

He's already changed teams

No it wouldn't. 4 strong personalities... poor Ernie will have his work cut out for him. Shaq would also be hands down the most critical crew member on TNT; he would hate on everyone.

he can still start and get a ring in celtics, heat, spurs, mavs and maybe lakers ( after bynum takes his anua injury again) i dont get why all thise teams are not slmiing in his dooer.

If no contender wants him, then yeah, he should retire.

from what i gather he has a fixed price demand and playing time demand that none of those contenders will agree to

and miami is said to not want him for chemistry reasons

I think he's still got soem game left in him. Had he been as dedicated to conditioning as guys like Karl Malone, Kareem and Mutumbo, he'd still be able to get 25 points a game and 12 rebounds, but even with his lack of conditioning, as it stands, he is still hard to gaurd in the post and a strong rebounder when playing bench minutes (20 or so a game). There are a lot of teams that could use him.

1. The Thunder. They need an interior presence and Shaq could really help make them competative.

2. The Hawks: Horford can go to power forward and Josh Smith to SF, and this would give the team some depth.

3. New York: They have an entire roster to fill and no center.

4. Philly: Just as insurance for a back up.

And of course any other team that wants to have a big body to throw on Dwight Howard (including the Celtics and the Heat).

And then there are the three sentimental picks:

1. Orlando: Finishing his career with the team that he started it with and giving Howard lessons on passing out of the double-team, and he woudl give them depth and rebounding in the front court because while Howard is the best rebounder in the league, he still needs help and Lewis isnt cutting it. Imagine Shaq at center and Dwight at PF? Bosh would get POUNDED!!!!

2. The Lakers: Where he defined his legacy. Go out a winner and give them some depth and insurance at center (depth: he and Bynum could share minutes at center with Ratliff, and Odam Gasol, Barnes and Artest would eat up all the minutes at the forward position: that is depth, and insurance because we all know how Bynum's knee is...?!?!?!?!?).

3. Miami: The franchise he brought their only title to. He's played with Wade, he's played with James, why not play with both of them and plug up the middle, plus Miami still needs something to throw at Dwight and Bosh will not cut it.

I think there are a lot of option for Shaq if he is willing to take the vet min., but if he wants the MLE he may have a hard time getting it, and he may have a hard time getting a starting spot as well.

The place I'd like to see him most though is San Antonio: I'd love to see him and Duncan team up, and with Splittner coming in, who will just be getting his feel of the NBA and McDysse aging, it would be good to have a third option at center.

I would either like to see him sign with the mavs or retire if he signed with the mas they would go from the smallest team a year ago with that punk dampier who cant shoot the ball in the ocean to have added hayewood chanler and shaq we be huge and dont forget dirk who is the best shooting big man in nba history............

I think it has more to do with Shaq. He wants $$ and want a big role, he is not motivated by rings he has 4. La is where he should end his career but they don't have $$ and they don't need him to play major minutes just back up Drew. Even with Shaq La still need Pau at center at times. Can Shaq handle a DNP?

Sad part is, he's still one of the top 5 centers in the game today . That's a poor reflection on the NBA. Miami would be perfect for him now.

shaq should only retire when he feels like it. As long as he feels he can put up with the schedule and the team (he signs with) demands then theres no reason to ever leave what you love most.

He should lower his standards by taking less money and a spot as a backup C or a limited minutes starter.

I would love to see Shaq on the Hawks or Spurs. I think he fits those two teams really well. Shaqlanta? The Great Shaq Antonio? I think these two places would be good to end a career.
