Kansas City Royals

all info from bluejays.com

Monday July 19, 8:10, SNET

Brett Cecil (8-5, 3.97 ERA) (http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=446399) vs Kyle Davies (4-6, 5.57 ERA) (http://kansascity.royals.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=434678)

Scouting report:

Blue Jays: Cecil turned in a solid seven-inning performance at home against the Twins on July 8, earning his first win since June 10. The lefty allowed one run and scattered four hits, ending with seven strikeouts and one walk and lowering his ERA to 1.38 in July.

Royals: It'll be 11 days between starts for Davies by the time he takes the mound for this game. He last started on July 7 at Seattle and gave up three runs on four hits in six innings, getting no decision in a 7-3 Royals win. Davies has not won in his last seven starts.

Tuesday July 20, 8:10, SNET

Jesse Litsch (0-4, 6.54 ERA) (http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=446209) vs Anthony Lerew (1-3, 7.56 ERA) (http://kansascity.royals.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=434679)

Scouting report:

Blue Jays: Litsch carried a no-hitter through five innings at home against the Red Sox on July 11, but wound up with a loss. The righty allowed three runs on four hits, including a pair of homers, over seven innings, during which he struck out five and walked one.

Royals: Lerew last started on July 11 in Zack Greinke's spot just before the All-Star break. It wasn't a pleasant outing; Lerew gave up four homers and eight runs in just 2 2/3 innings. He started previously as the replacement for disabled Luke Hochevar.

Wednesday July 21, 2:10, SNET

Mark Rzepczynksi (0-0, 5.40 ERA) (http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=519240) vs Zach Greinke (5-9, 3.67 ERA) (http://kansascity.royals.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=425844)

Scouting report:

Blue Jays: Rzepczynski is slated to make a spot start for Brandon Morrow, who is being skipped once in order to ease his innings load. Rzepczynski took a no-decision after giving up four runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings against the Twins on July 7.

Royals: Greinke struggled in his first start back after nine days off after being scratched from his last start before the All-Star Game with soreness in his right shoulder. Greinke tossed six innings, giving up five runs -- two earned -- with four walks and three strikeouts.

I would hope Toronto sweeps Kansas as they should. But I think Litsch will lose and Toronto will take 2 out of 3. I call that Escobar will continue his strong play.

Jays sweep!!! They will average 7.5 runs per game and hit 9 HR.

It seems to set up as a very high scoring series to me.

How come the Royals never seem to put out a good lineup? Really, what is this crap? Podsednik? Kendall? Bloomqvist? Betancourt? I'd rather put out half of our AAA squad than these guys, it looks like an expansion roster

on another note.. i'm just hearing the Snider was activated and assigned to AA which apparently means he can't be called up for another 10 days.

The other curious part of the move is that the Jays designated Green for assignment to get Marcum up meaning the Jays have an extra Pitcher on their roster.

I dunno why they can't just send EE to the minors again and bring Snider up to Play right

I wanna tie Gregg up and gets lit up on fire. I hope that was the last straw and gregg does not close again.

But unfortunatley i see him closing until the end of jul just to shoot up his value. If he pitches like this however its not

How many losses have stemmed as a direct result from this clown?

marcre
07-20-2010, 09:11 AM
Lind cost us this game tonight with that base running blunder.

Gregg too. There is no way in my book that the Royals should score two runs in the 10th inning. I liked him in the beginning of the year, but this is ridiculous. There's no reason to lose like this to the Royals.

2009mvp
07-20-2010, 10:46 AM
^^Not to mention EE K'ing with runners on the corners an no one out, making 3 outs without even moving a pair of leadoff baserunners in the 9th, and again failing to score with men on the corners and no one out in the 10th. That game shouldn't have been all that close IMO.

Speaking of which, I don't understand why Buck/Tabler were praising the decision in the 10th to send the runner from 3rd on contact. It's a 1 run game in extras, you need just 3 outs to win. Wouldn't you rather force them to go around the horn to turn 2 and taking the run? I don't know the exact expectancies, but common sense would say that your number one priority is getting that insurance run, if it costs you 2 outs so be it.

How many losses have stemmed as a direct result from this clown?

4 direct losses with us saving his *** against chicago that one time. He lost us a game against the wild card leading rays as well. 9 outings where he gave up runs as well. Thats pretty bad for a closer

We could be 51-42 right now if it wasnt for this joker. Mind you no playoff spot but a heck of alot closer

When will Cito Gaston realize that Shawn Camp is his true closer?

I think he also knows that. But they are trying to sell on Downs, Frasor and Gregg. And the more saves he has the better return we get. Id put up with Greggs antics and hope we get a solid return

If gregg, frasor, and downs are moved by the trade deadline than Camp is going to close games with Tallet and Accardo setting him up
