Next season, that's gonna come down to Carmelo and KD.
If the Nuggets finish 2nd, melo is in the running.

Lebron could possibly average a triple double next year so I dunno how most of you have him off your list. yeah his points will go down some but his other stats should go up . If lebron averages a triple double then it goes to him...if not then its between Kobe, Durant and Melo.

:facepalm:right back at ya. So Wade and Bosh are going to get all the rebounds???? they will each average 20 a game right so lebron wont be able to snag any right? and yeah lebron and wade will share the ball and each will get the other easy baskets so each could rack up a ton of assists. plus lebron will play pointguard a lot and can rack up a ton of assists. It's going to be tough for those 2 to win it now that they actually have some help around them.(Think how tough it's been for Kobe to win his 1) The only way Lebron wins it is IF he avg's a triple double for the season. How many times has that been done? lol

It's going to be Kevin Durant this year.

:facepalm:You misunderstood me, I said how is he getting a tripple double while Bosh and Wade are ALSO grabbing rebounds, I think he will avg 20-8-8 but not a tripple double, Bosh is a good rebounder so is wade and Lebron so i dont see it happening. Cavs had no good rebounder besides James thats why he almost avg a tripple double. James might Avg more assist but idk about rebounds.

lebron averaged 30 points 7 rebounds and 8.6 assists last year. almost a triple double buddy. On a team with Bosh and Wade he can easily go over the 10 assists mark. the rebounds will be more of his will . AND I SAID LEBRON COULD POSSIBLY DO IT, I didnt say that HE WOULD DEF. DO IT. Ignorant

I don't think Lebron will win it next season mainly because he went to a team with a superstar and a borderline superstar so voters might be a bit skeptical to vote for him because of it. If he outshines his last season and if the Heat and up having an incredible record, either him or Wade should win it.

But despite that, I'll go with Durant in 1st, Kobe in second, and depending on the Heat's success you can add their top 2 players for MVP.

My mind tells me Durant or Kobe, but my gut tells me Lebron. Hmm tough one it's a toss up, sh-- d wade may have a better season than Lebron, but I am really interested to see how much Lebron's assists and rebounds are inflated. Considering the dude averaged like 30 points 9 assists and 7 rebounds I could see him dropping 5-6 points on his average and adding at LEAST 1-2 assists and rebounds. So I'm thinking about 25/10/9-10

If those aren't MVP stats on a team that will win 50-60 games next year I'm not sure what to tell you. Unless Durant's Thunder win 55+ and he scores 31+ with 8 reb 5 assists a game or Kobe does the same I just don't see anyone but Lebron if the season goes how it logically should. That's the only reason my mind doesn't agree, because anything can happen and the Heat have played 0 games together.

Awesome avatar btw Nickatina is dope. Nice San Quinn quote as well in the signature. That's abut as far as I agree in your post haha I think the only numbers of his that will drop is the PPG (probably by 5-6 per game) with assists and rebounds going up. Why would they not? The people around him are going to be getting better shot opportunities and they are FAR more skilled than his previous team. So better shots and better shooting % by teammates= less assists? Not sure I follow the logic here could you explain?

PS: Also love the 49ers and Giants I just HATE the Ducks and Lakers I feel like we already have a love/hate kinda thing going on without you even talking to me yet hahaha

Durrant or howard. Cp3- doenst have help, Jazz IMO took a big hit, Kobe is getting up in age, the big 3, you cant decide who will win MVP out of that group, Wade cant do it without James, james cant do it without Wade, so DOnt think either can win it. Melo, is good, but not IMO game changer type. I leave it to these 2. slim chance of Rose as well. just becuase I think him being the leader of a team who will make it high in the playoffs will help him.

Kobe.

I dont think the Magic will improve so much that Howard woudl jump in the MVP rating, Bosh/Wade/James obviously will cancel each other out, Durant's Thunder wont be high enough in the rankings to make him a legit contender since most voters seem to take the team's record into consideration, and I think Melo's numbers will be a little more modest this season since the nuggets picked up Harrington.

CP3 could help turn the Hornets around if he isnt put on the trading block and that could put him up high, Nash could keep the Suns in the playoffs and turn Hakim Warrick into an all-star, which would put him in the running, and Duncan is always a respectable choice in my book, but I think Kobe is the only guy who will be putting up the numbers that voters like to see and will be on the team with one of the better records in the NBA, which voters also seem to want to see in an MVP candidate.

If the Thunders wont finish top 4 in the West it'll be hard for Durant to be MVP even if he averages 30pts. The same applies to Melo. I believe it'll be a competition among the names of Kobe, Lebron, Wade, and Dwight; their teams have a realistic chance of finishing with the best or 2nd best record. I will put Durant's name in the list too assuming his team may finish with 55+wins next season.

I agree... Either one of these two or Kobe of course. When it comes down to it, if you look at what the letters stand for... Most Valuable Player... Gotta Go With KD the hometown King
KD
Melo
Dirk
Nash (i think Nash gets back to where he was if Turk can play at least 62 games this season.)

I cant put Wade or LBJ caus they cant win MVP with the team they have. I dont think the Kobe will get it cause he has a team that won back to back now. Dont think the League will give it to him. I think Dirk only getts back into it cause the Mavs(my Fav Team) fall out every year and if he can get them number 1 and the west(with the Lakers being 2 or lower) with him ave high point range would be his to take. Melo...idk its just his all around game that makes me feel like he might get it this year. I think he would of won it if Denver would of been a higher seed(like 2). If he can get them number 1 or 2 i think he gets it cause he is going to get 27-32 a agme easy. I think KD because after this summer with team USA, i think he is going to kill this year and get the Thunder to ether the number 2,3 oe evern 4. I realy think he going to get them 3 right behind L.A and the Mavs this year and Denver falls to 4 if the Jazz dont click to well. Plus with out KD Thunder are dead. westbrook not enough.

The 2 frontrunners are LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Now I will point out why LeBron James will win his 3rd straight MVP award.
70% of the time mvp award is won by the guy whose team had the best record in the season.
2003 - San Antonio Spurs (60-22) 1st in NBA - Tim Duncan
2004 - Minnesota Timberwolves (58-24) 2nd in NBA - Kevin Garnett
2005 - Phoenix Suns (62-20) 1st in NBA - Steve Nash
2006 - Phoenix Suns (54-28) 3rd in NBA - Steve Nash
2007 - Dallas Mavericks (67-15) 1st in NBA - Dirk Nowitzki
2008 - Los Angeles Lakers (57-25) 3rd in NBA - Kobe Bryant
2009 - Cleveland Cavaliers (66-16) 1st in NBA - LeBron James
2010 - Cleveland Cavaliers (61-21) 1st in NBA - LeBron James
It is like 80% that Miami Heat will have the best record next season with 66-70 wins in my opinion. Maximum what I will give for Thunder next season is 4th season record in the league next season, behind Heat, Lakers and Orlando.
LeBron James PPG will go down, but his APG and RPG will go up. Why?
PPG will go down, because he will take less shots per game.
APG will go up because he will be the main ballhandler in Miami Heat (there is a chance he will be a point guard) and he will be having a lot of guys around him who can have big percentage of finishing attacks after his passes. (Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Mike Miller, Udonis Haslem and others).
RPG will go up because he will have a lot of energy to fight for rebounds. Having such teammates as Dwyane Wade will take some pressure of him and he will be able to produce decent numbers in defence. (RPG, BPG). There is a big chance that he will be the Defensive Player of the year next season.
All in all I give it a triple double in the season with 24 PPG 10REB and 11 AST.
Now if we will look the numbers of the last season we will find this:
LeBron James - 29.7 PPG 7.3 RPG 8.6 APG 1.6 SPG 1 BPG
Kevin Durant - 30.1 PPG 7.6 RPG 2.8 APG 1.3 SPG 1 BPG
Kevin Durant lacks APG to beat LeBron James in stats.
LeBron will probably lead the league in EFF again and if he manages to average triple double in the season it will be so wrong not to give him the MVP award.
So I say 2011 Most Valuable Player Of The Year - LeBron James.

tr3ymill3r
07-19-2010, 08:58 AM
Does everyone think that just because Wade and LeBron are on the same team that one of them couldn't get MVP. I've heard everyone say there isn't enough ball to go around, yet at the same time they are the favorites to win almost every game. With that being said, for those of you who have played basketball or any other sport, when you play with a superstar you get better yourself. You no longer are looking at double teams every time down, you are able to relax a lot more because this time when LeBron drives and dishes he's passing to Wade or Bosh as opposed to Shaq or Mo. If the big 3 keep their averages the heat would only avg 90 pts a game based on Mike Miller and others throwing in 6-12 pts a game if that. LeBrons assists numbers will go up, because he's passing to better players now who want to take the shot. I only foresee Bosh's numbers dropping as far as scoring is concerned, but LeBron and Wade may have a friendly competition to try and out dual each other each night. Personally I'd love to see a team go 82-0, that would be awesome. Highly unlikely, but awesome.
