That's a very classy letter. Too bad LeBron couldn't have handled it the same way.

Amare should be applauded for taking MORE money and joining a team that has little-to-no chance of making the Finals.

Growing up in Arizona, I was able to catch many Suns games. Amare was a class act and performed exceptionally (for the most part) during his tenure with the Suns. That being said, he has been on the trade block for the past few years and was still playing at a high level. Suns fans should appreciate what he provided to the team, and although they didn't get a championship, they made a strong push over the past years. I believe Amare would have returned to Phoenix but the FO just didn't want him. You cannot fault him for that.

No. He should be applauded for a classy good-bye to his former team.

The thread is about Amar'e thanking Phoenix for taking him in for the beginning of his career. Nothing to do with where he went and for how much.

I am a Knicks fan here in New York City. I must tell you that STAT has done nothing by embrass this city and the fans since he has arrived here all the while never once saying a bad word about Phoenix.....the organization....the town....and the fans......he has only said good things and how much he will miss you guys. I ran into him on the street and he took the time to stop and not only shake my hand but talk to me for a few minutes about how the Knicks are back and he will do everything in his power to make sure it is known across the league. He told me he was sad to leave you guys, but is very excited to be here and turn the franchise around.

He is truly a class act!!!

It wasn't a spectacular letter by any means... but he didn't write it.

He also forgot about Steve Nash... the guy who made him look better and got him a max contract.

Amare should be applauded for taking MORE money and joining a team that has little-to-no chance of making the Finals. If the Suns would've offered the 4th and 5th year gaureented he would've stayed in phoenix. At least amare said that he would've gave phoenix the opputunity to match any offer he takes. Unlike lebron.

Why are you hung up on the money? Talented people get PAID. That is the way the world works.

He show ten times more class than Lebron. Lebron had 60 mins to express any kind of appreciation towards the city of Cleveland and did nothing.

wow.. u r definitely blinded by jealousy.
I definitely heard him thank his fans and his city and repeatedly state he didn't want to leave but he wanted to win.

I definitely agree that the whole letter should be focused on thanking Nash because without Nash he is not a max player.

Amare from what I read was very very admorable in his behaviour and actions with the Suns over the past year. Even throughout the trade rumors and all that stuff in Feb. he helped lead them to the WCF.

Good on Amare... see this is the difference between leaving the way James did, and Amare did... LBJ could've handled it much better than he did, but instead his advisors and his own decision to go through with it, made him the most hated man on the most hated team in the NBA now.

it could be argued that fans like you have made him the most hated man on the mosted hated team in NBA now.

Nah, its fans like you who have been ignorant and have shown no empathy to the actions which Lebron made that only magnify his present image. If you don't think he did anything at all wrong, your in the minority.

I hate the Cleveland Cavaliers, never a fan of theirs, but Lebron left in the worst possible way an athlete could have. Show some empathy man, imagine if that was Dwade who decided to have a one hour special saying how he was going to leave Miami, you would be disgusted, especially after saying for the most part how he wanted to stay in Miami... then last second he ditches for Chicago/New York, wherever.

I used to think Amare was a punk. But I've come to realize that he is not a punk. He doesn't view himself as the almighty. He's just overated, but that's not his fault.

Its you who are blinded by potential. If you read any of the transcript never thanks Cleveland at all! Yes he states he doesn't want to leave. But never once thanks the fans or the city of cleveland during the interview with Jim Grey.

:laugh2:

I noticed Amare never says anything arrogant or something that would make you think he's full of himself. Its not like he pulled a Z-Bo and said "Yeah, im better then Bosh and you can tell him I said that too". When they asked Amare that question he just said "Go ask Bosh that same question".
